Olafur Arnolds, composer of the beautiful and haunting music that accompanied the first series of Broadchurch and now for Broadchurch 2 has revealed today via Twitter and Facebook that the music for episode 1 of series 2 is ready to be handed over and that a new closing theme has been written, he has also released a brief teaser clip of the closing theme.

Broadchurch 2 is expected to air on ITV in January or early Spring of 2015 and sees the return of David Tennant, Olivia Coleman, Jodie Whittaker and Andrew Buchan who will be joined by new cast members Marianne Jean-Baptiste, James D’Arcy, Eve Myles, Meera Syal and Phoebe Waller-Bridge for a new story.

The new series will be executive produced by Chris Chibnall for Imaginary Friends and Jane Featherstone on behalf of Kudos, a Shine Group company. The Producer is Richard Stokes who also produced the first series. James Strong, who directed 5 episodes of the first series including episode one, will be directing episodes one and two of this new series.
