تصاویر flickered before my eyes. Several figures, tall, pale and menacing loomed before me. Another- a petit girl with her teeth bared, blood dripping from her mouth. I woke up with a gasp. I had prophetic dreams, but this one had been different. It seemed so real and yet it made no sense. Who was that and what were they? I tried to shake it off as I got ready for my first دن at Forks High.

My dad had died when I was little, and my mom owned a big bakery chain. We were constantly moving to start up and then sell new locations. It brought in a lot of money but switching schools sucked and my mom didn’t spend that mother daughter time with me ever, so I’ve learned to become pretty independent. Apparently the company needed a “small town, touristy location” so now I was stuck in Forks for 6+ months. I pulled my car into a spot beside a Volvo in the school’s tiny parking lot. My car was easily a stand out- a Mercedes wasn’t exactly common in Forks. I was extremely aware of the stares I was getting. I fixed my شرٹ, قمیض and stepped out of the car. Striding towards the building in a fashion meant for a runway, all eyes were on me. Go big یا go home. I thought as I opened the door and stepped into the small, generic building of the high school. I put away my بلیک بیری and looked around the English class. It was small, only 24 students. Everyone except for 2 girls, pale and gorgeous, was pretty un-noteworthy.

The اگلے 2 classes passed quickly, and I found myself grabbing my wallet and heading to the caf. I grabbed a ترکاریاں, سلاد and a ginger ale- no diet pop for me, gross and worse for آپ than the fully sugared stuff- and scanned the caf for some familiar faces. I recognized the 2 girls from my English class. One was no taller than 5’ with short black hair. The other was a bit taller with dark brown hair that hung down her back. Gripping my tray, I walked over to their میز, جدول سے طرف کی the window. “Mind if I شامل میں you?” I asked, trying to ignore the weird feeling I got in my stomach when I was near these two. I had been the new girl plenty of times, and that whole first دن jitters passed after a few schools. What was wrong with me? I wondered. As I was thinking that through, I noticed they exchanged a surprised glance, but moved their bags to the ground, making room for me. I smiled at them and sat down. “I’m Alice, and this is Bella. I remember you- you’re in our English class right?” The shorter one asked. “Yeah, that’s me. I’m Brittany Henderson.” I flicked my blond hair back and started on my salad. I caught Alice staring at my shirt. She met my gaze. “Prada, right?” She asked. I nodded. “It’s not exactly school appropriate, they’ll probably dress code you.” Bella piped up. I put my fork down. “If they want my mom to stick around and build the business that will actually get some attention in this town, then they’ll be smart and not say anything. And besides, all the guys seem to think it’s just fine. But thanks for the concern, Mom.” I glared at her before returning to my salad. Alice snickered quietly, and after a منٹ Bella stormed off. “I’m afraid you’ve put her off for awhile.” Alice sighed. I shrugged. “I’m not gonna keep my mouth shut to try and avoid hurting someones feelings. I have an opinion too.” I said. “Fair enough.” She replied. I checked the time on my phone- 45 mins till lunch ended. “Want to go grab a coffee?” I asked. “Sure.” She nodded and with that, we left the caf.

I pulled into the driveway of my house. “My mom owns Henderson Coffee House. We have way better coffee makers here than your average Tim’s.” I کہا as I put a pot on. “I knew your name sounded familiar!” She exclaimed. I nodded and grabbed 2 to-go cups. Pulling out the cream and sugar and whatnot, I waited impatiently for the coffee to brew. My phone buzzed. It was a bbm from my best friend, Mel. I met her in LA and she was the only person I had kept in contact with from all of my old schools. Hows the first دن going? It read. Not bad, met a few nice people. Will txt مزید details later. Xoxo. I replied and poured the coffee. We took the cups and headed back for the school. “Nice house.” She commented. Thanks, it’s not bad. Where abouts do آپ live?” I asked. “Not in town, we have a house on some big property سے طرف کی the forest.” “Sounds nice.” I کہا and locked the house up. We drove back to the school, and the rest of the دن passed quickly. My mom got ہوم late as usual. I ate رات کے کھانے, شام کا کھانا quickly and then escaped to my room. I had a lot of homework. Grade 12 was pretty much a nightmare when it came to workload. I plowed through then sat on my window ledge, trying to make sense of that dream I had.
