Three-year-old me, sitting on the red carpet with my brother, not a thought in my little head. "I want the piggy!" snatching it away from him, not knowing it will be the last time I see it, along with many other things. "Give it back, Twilight!" young Ciel giggles; takes it back.
Father walks in with auntie Rachel, his new wife. Why can't I see Mommy anymore? I look over at him with Rachel, like she was never there. "Daddy?" I unsteadily walk to his feet. "Yes, dear?" His warm hand sits on my head. I stare up at him with the deep golden eyes he rejected from my mother. "Where's Mommy?"
I hear a crash and Daddy scoops me up in his arms while I cry. The noise isn’t all I’ll cry about that day. “Calm down, dear.” He kisses my forehead.
Another boom, and the room is red with flames. I scream louder. Daddy’s gone.
I wobble over to Ciel. He immediately lifts me into his arms. We stand and stare at Daddy and Auntie being swallowed in the flames. He squeezes me tightly, and our tears hit the burgundy carpet in harmony.
He runs outside with me, and sets me into a carriage. “I love you, sister.” he looks at me with emotion clouding his eyes. He closes the door and walks away.
“Ciel?” I sob. The carriage starts moving. “Ciel!” My screams just won’t reach him. I look back at the mansion where I grew up. A dark figure is standing on the roof, yellow eyes staring at me. “Mommy?” I wipe my nose.
My eyes feel heavy. I can’t sleep, not now. Not when this is happening. My toddler body says otherwise as I drift off.
I’m in a dark room, alone. “Ciel?” I call. Nothing. I notice a dark liquid slowly covering my feet. It’s stench lingers with death. I dip my finger in, holding it to my face. It’s black. Black blood.
I walk towards the source, only to crash to my knees. Crona, my other brother, laying in the corner. The blood’s dripping from his mouth, an eerie smile painted on his pale face. “Crona?” I scream. No answer.
No. Not you, Crona. I’ve already lost so much.
