New at this...

So, I'm new at Christianity. I'm in it on my own, and I don't have many people to talk to about it. I was wondering, I've heard that God is a forgiving one. But then, he does not like it when we sin. If he forgives us, then is there really such a thing as sinning?

Cinders said:
When آپ were a child, and آپ did something your mother told آپ was wrong (say, snuck downstairs and ate all the کوکیز before dinner), what did she do? She didn't throw آپ out of the house and never speak to آپ again. She might have scolded you, but she always loves you, and she forgave آپ eventually. Does that mean eating all the کوکیز wasn't wrong? Of course not. All it means is your mother loves آپ unconditionally.

And so does God.

Magica said:
God doesn't like it when we sin, but forgiveness of sins is why He sent Jesus to earth. We're all sinners, and we can't always help it, but if we ask forgiveness and are truly sorry, He forgives us.
