RachaelF8 I think you're giving up to easily. It's only the beginning of the season and that means things are gonna change by the end. It's all about the journey, of the characters, the relationships, friendships, DE:) Yes, at the moment Elena is completely in love with Stefan, but really is that any different from how last season ended? It wouldn't be in character for Elena to forget about Stefan and suddenly realize she is in love with Damon. She is stubborn and will do anything to find the 'love of her life'. But that doesn't mean that's not gonna change. This season is the Delena season. To me that means while searching for Stefan they are going to become closer, so in order to search for Stefan they need to want to save him. Elena will begin to realize that even though she loves the Stefan she knew, she may not feel that way about the Stefan he is now. Yet, when Damon was like Stefan she was still able to build a friendship and accept him, while helping him realize that he could be a better person, the person he once was. So relax, Delena are all about the journey and that means many, many amazing, epic scenes are on there way. :)

delenasalvatore I'm from the UK, and although I've seen the DE scenes from 3x01 I haven't seen the whole episode. But to be honest, I'm not surprised at the 'I love you' thing, I was more or less expecting such. I kind of thought that Stefan would show up at the party, or Elena would see him from the window, and they would share this angst-ridden, lovey-dovey stare...So yeah, the 'I love you' scene is totally in keeping with Stelena and how the producers 'write' their relationship. You can't expect Elena's feelings to drastically switch from loving Stefan to being in love with Damon. You can't expect her to give up on looking for Stefan. The whole idea behind Stefan joining forces with Klaus is to make him more interesting as a character, and to get him away from Elena so DE can bond. The books sort of do the same thing, it's not until Stefan is absent that Elena really begins to develop feelings for Damon. I thoroughly expect a lot more mushy SE scenes in the coming episodes, but I also expect a whole lot of DE-bonding as well. Remember how last season began? 'Hate...the beginning of a love story.' At the beginning, Elena hated Damon, but the season ended with her kissing him. This season, it begins with her loving Stefan, but the big question is, will she feel the same way about him by the end?? I know it all depends on what Stefan does, but I'm guessing probably not. The show is about a journey. None of the characters are exactly the same people as they were when the show began. So it wouldn't make sense for Stefan to become a ripper, go around ripping people's heads off and going on a six-month rampage with Klaus, only for it to end with him and Elena exactly as they were in Season 2. People change, relationships change, and if SE are immune to that, then the writers aren't portraying them realistically. The Stefan who is a ripper is a totally different person to who Elena fell in love with. Would she ever have fallen for that guy? She'll chase the picture perfect image of Stefan and won't let go of their relationship because she loves him, but 'Ripper Stefan' and 'Good Guy Stefan' are entirely different people. Elena has seen Damon at his very worst, but she's always seen the real him, and she grew to care about him very much. Stefan has never been completely honest with her about who he really is. I think a lot of SE fans were hoping that Stefan would come home right away, but that's not going to happen. I really believe that by the end of the season, DE will be closer than they ever have before, and SE will be further apart than they've ever been. So relax. This is our season.

bdavis98 I'm not saying I lost hope in delena journey,I'm sure that she will love damon evantully how can't she? I'm saying I lost hope on them being the endgame,because ihave been through twice now (with brucas from OTH,and with sooric from TB) so I will love delena and I will still think their small scenes that has no kisses or real hugs still have more chemistry than any stelena scene I'm just not going to get my hopes up of them being the endgame that's all

HaleyDewit It's only the first episode. Remember, DE's going slow, they have real build up. They will be a couple and they will be endgame.

Delena01 Everybody is going completely crazy about the phone call with Stefan and Elena :/ some people are switching over to Stelena because of it. But I know that I will always be a DE fan <3 and nothing can ever change that, I already knew that there were going to be some scenes like that with stefan and elena, including when they re-unite. But it's only the first episode. But I just think to myself what AMAZING DELENA scenes we have in store for us. This is the year of Delena <3

loveofpete Yes it is only the first episode. Elena is stubborn and she will not beleive Stefan is truly killing people up and down the eastern seaboard UNTIL she actually see it for herself. All she was left with before he left was that they were in love. This is a shock to her so she will need to be faced with facts.Yes Stefan will not be the same person he left so that is where we will see how their relationship will be once he comes back. While he's gone though Elena and Damon will get even closer. Elena has seen Damon through his bad and good so she KNOWS him. She knows his ways, him compelling some of his girlfriends etc.. No surprise there with him and she also knows he loves her. So basically they are on an even playing field with Elena either falling in love with who Damon is (which I think she already does but just doesn't want to face it) or hold out to see if she can still love who Stefan really is. I think Elena was falling for Damon even before Stefan took off that is why I keep saying Elena/Damon will not have any major romantic moments until Stefan is back in the gang,they are helping him to control his blood urges and planning to kill Klaus. So plan on there being NOTHING DE,only angst, chemistry laden looks, deeper friendship like in Epi 1, UNTIL Stefan is back. Elena is not written to be sneaky or a cheater like that. Not saying that DE will not subtly flirt with each other or have "moments" while Stefan is gone but nothing people would consider "cheating".

jendelena ^^^ So true. Elena knows who Damon is. She chose to care deeply about Damon even knowing all of his faults. She accepted him. Elena does not really know that much about Stefan. This season is more about Damon and Elena restoring their friendship that close bond you saw in season 1 but at a deeper level. Elena is a good person and she does love Stefan unfortunately lol but she's falling in love with Damon even though she does love him perhaps not in the romantic sense as yet but she does love him. With Damon and Elena its a love unfolding with time. I can't wait to see how this season unfolds.

TVDbiggestfan It's funny because 3x02 is just about DE, and I knew that it would be like that. Obiviously since the season 2 finale was about DE and then ended with Stefan leaving, the next episode has to be about Stefan and how he's gone etc. And now that they did that episode of course they can bring in some Delena love which they did. I don't know how many times I have commented this but, when Alaric asks Elena "Know what you're doin' there?" after Damon leaves from the bedroom scene and Elena says "No, I don't.", that right there is proof that she has feelings for him. And of course they way she looked at him, at his lips and eyes and how she gave up and left the mountain because she was worried about Damon, she didn't even care that she could find Stefan, she just couldn't let something happen to Damon again <3
