That wouldn't be a smart thing to say. He is immortal after all. Is he supposed to NEVER find love again after Elena is gone from his life? I wouldn't want that for him! It wouldn't make his love for Elena less real if he fell in love again 500 years later...

Of course, Damon's allowed to move on if Elena leaves. I just don't think it's possible for Damon to love someone the way he loves Elena.

i agree. elena is his one true love. and if he tells her this, i will be satisfied. id rather him be killed off, than fall for some other girl. and lets face it, season seven is the last season, and no other girl will ever touch his heart like elena did or ever will. how is it not smart?? elena is the only girl he ever truely loved. i dont how its bad telling the love of his life that he wiill never love another like he loves her. and yes, as much as i cant stomach the thought of damon moving on from elena, he is allowed to move on, just as long as elena is and always will be his one true love. i dont mind him moving on after a VERY long time, as long as its not with bonnie. anyone but her.

and anyway, what makes you think that damon may fall in love again??. he has made it pretty clear time and time again, that elena is the one and only girl for him. even if he does, he will NEVER love this woman the way that he loves elena. EVER. no matter how much time passes. he will never be able to erase elena from his heart. that will never happen.

Well, I agree that he'll never love another woman the way he loves Elena. But if for some reason they can't be together, I don't want him to spend the rest of eternity suffering. I'm sure she'll always be number one in his heart, and if there still be at least slightest chance for them to be together, he won't move on, but if not, if the writers would be so cruel as to destroy any hope for DE in the future, I hope Damon will find a way to be happy. Of course not right away, and of course it won't compare to what he has with Elena, but I can't say that I don't want him to find love at all.

same. i understand were your coming from, but at the same time, the mere thought of damon being with someone who isnt elena, makes me feel physically sick to my stomach. elena IS damon happiness. without her, he will never survive.

well, i dont know about you, but for me, this would cheapen delenas love so much. what does that say about delena if someone else steals his heart, or comes between them? not to mentuion, we would never hear the end of it from the bamon and stelena fans. they will constantly be going on and on about how delenas love wasnt strong enough to survive another woman. i would hate this so much.

If only that were true. Julie Plec wants Damon to fall in love again so really his last words to Elena in season six are a contradiction. (I love you, Elena. And I will love you until I take my last breath on this earth).

He waited for Kathine for 145 years. Yes, he had the occasional sex, but he didn't fall in love. So, it makes no sense that he would fall in love with someone within the span of 60 years, while waiting for the actual love of his life, who loves him back.
