The only thing I loved was the Dexter/Debra stuff that went down. Sure, it was a shitty end for Deb, but the emotional stuff that went on was brilliant. I cried like a fucking baby. The actual circumstances were lame and cliche, but the emotional connection Dexter had with Deb really saved it. I think it was, for me, more that these to characters I had loved for 8 years were coming to an end, but I do think the Dexter/Deb stuff was as perfect as it could be given the totally ridiculous corner the season had got itself in.
I was also so pissed off at the lack of Masuka. Seems like a stupid thing to get angry about, given that the show isn't about Masuka, but I can't for the fucking life of me understand why they spent sooooooooo much time with Masuka and his daughter and then literally did NOTHING with it. It was almost like when they spent a hell of a lot of time with Louis and his weird shit, then just killed him and never explained any of it. I dunno, it just really bugged me... And introducing all these new characters and basically have them do nothing of significance. I just can't see point in 99% of the stuff that they did this season and I guess the finale was just the climax of all that half-assed plot. It really sucks because Dexter is one of my favourite shows of all time and I hate being mad at it, but I just feel like they pretty much did everything wrong with this last season and that set the finale up to be a bust.
Sorry for ranting, but jesus fucking christ, it was hard to watch such emotional stuff in such a lame context. The show, the characters and the fans deserved better.
on other news this season sucked big time ....all of it for nothing ....
It is funny, because way back years ago I predicted that in the end Dexter would kill Deb, but that it would be a merciful death or something he was forced to do not because he had to to protect himself, but rather to protect Deb. I just didn't foresee the actual story surrounding it to be so rushed and limp...
The ending was sad and I cried a lot, not for Dexter's sake, but for Quinn...
And then the Dexter becoming a lumberjack... It was not a good ending at all... I mean sure, people have mentioned that you know he's dark passenger had died alongside Deb and that t was a reasonable thing, but why did he need to become a F****** lumberjack.. -.- He's way to awesome ...
