Aurora is only uninteresting or "boring" because of the combination of her shy personality and lack of screen time. This make her seem flat in comparison to princesses like Ariel and Jasmine. I don't really think any of the princesses are boring, and I find them all very interesting. This is isn't an insult, but we all do have our own definitions of interesting I suppose.
Too much of her screen time is spent in a trance, or sleeping, or exasperatingly mute. She doesn't even have a single spoken line after Prince Phillip awakens her! So, we just don't get to see much of her personality at all.
I think Aurora is ethereal, mysterious, has a gentle nature but was taught to be polite when talking to others in order to prepare her for life as a Princess. She's not shy but she is quiet and softly spoken (when she's not singing). I have history of shyness so I know what I'm talking about. I'm outgoing with close friends, close family and online though.
None of the Disney Princesses are shy or not shy as I know it.
So little rant over and I stood up for her which is what I wanted to do.
I also find Tiana to be very annoying and underdeveloped because she starts her movie with a goal she ends up achieving by the end without changing any of her priorities or developing as a person. She remains the same throughout the whole movie and doesn't face any struggles or emotional conflicts - other than maybe one when she refuses to take Facilier's offer that could have given her a dream career and a resturant, but I don't really consider not co-operating with an evil person who clearly means harm to people even if he offers you a deal a character development, if anything it is just a casual act of decency. Tiana doesn't end up realizing how much of a destructive influence her obsession with work has on her private life and that she should not have dedicated all the time she had in her life to her career and trying to fulfill her dad's dream. She has a goal in the beginning of the movie and she achieves it in the end without going through any evolation and I view it as a lazy writing. There is nothing wrong in a heroine that works through a goal but it should make a way for some character development to make a story work. Mulan, for example, goes to war to save her father but eventually realizes that she wants to stay in the army (even when Shang gives her a chance to leave) to prove something to herself and she comes to realisation that she didn't just do it for her father and that she wanted to prove that she was worthy of something and could be her own person, a person that is capable of great things. With Tiana it was the same goal and same attitude throughout the whole movie and I really found it boring and uninteresting.
Briar Rose's reaction to her "aunts" revealing the truth is nothing more than what would be natural for any girl in that situation. The movie makers could have expanded upon her reaction with some dialog, or even just her facial expressions. But they didn't want to show a Disney Princess with any ugly facial expressions (a rule which no one told Glen Keane about, apparently).
Most disappointing, though, is the utter lack of any dialog between Aurora and Phillip after he wakes her. There's no reason for it, since showing their happy reunion wouldn't violate the rule against ugly facial expressions.
As for Snow White, my main impression of her comes from the way she treats the dwarfs. Even before she meets them, she assumes they need mothering. When she finds out they're actually adults and not children, she still bosses them around anyway--even though they're actually her elders in every way. (The dwarfs are messy and dirty because they are typical men, not because of any childlike quality.) I actually don't like this sort of person in real life, but that's not the issue.
