The classic are far away than my standards for women.
The problem with the modern princes and animated movies in generally is that they're trying to much to make them in our days standards that it becomes annoying.
The renaissance princesses were great. For example, Mulan and Pocahontas were strong and independent without trying too much. They were because they were...(unlike today's animated characters in generally -watch epic- but that's another topic)

^those two maybe but definitely not the Renaissance girls as a whole. They're just as idealized as the Classics but don't have the Revival girls' more acknowledged flaws (even Rapunzel, the one true Mary Sue, is supposed to be seen as quirky and insecure, compared to the glowing confidence of the collective 90s heroines). Which is why as a group they're my least favorite.

I mean, I do agree modern Disney tries too hard, but I just don't see how the 90s girls were any less politicized, for lack of a better term. Most of them are meant to appeal to you as being Not Like Other Girls, one of the cringiest aspects of the thankfully outdated second wave feminist movement. They push you to see them as the perfect girls next door you should want to be friends with, as opposed to the idealized Classics who have regular weaknesses and the same charm as their story counterparts, and the Revivals' gift of making mistakes and being called on it more. The Revivls are allowed to have romance- or not have it. It's just one part of their stories, not a political statement. They have flaws (some more than others) and you can like 'em or hate 'em for it, whereas with the 90s heroines they're not depicted as such at all.

Classics are boring and outdated and only appeal to housewives (see above) who have no ambitions of their own besides bursting out baby after baby for an ungrateful man who just sees his wife as a babymaker and an occasional lay.

Modern princesses are overrated as hell and reek of SJW nonsense and fake feminism, not like the actual feminism from the 90s girls.
