I wouldn't say "prefer". I won't like a character more or less because of their skin color. As a white person myself, I have nothing against seeing caucasians in movie, but it should be more balanced. Diversity is important.

"Non-ethnic''. Are you saying that white people don't have an ethnic background. Belle is clearly French and Anna/Elsa are clear Norwegian. Anyway I want to see more diversity and I'm still waiting on a Latina princess!

Uploaded is correct- ethnicity is what all races have. I'm excited to see new ethnicities and cultures! I'm so happy to have Norwegian princesses, because it's a beautiful culture that interests me. but I'd also be excited to see a Japanese, Hebrew, Aztec, or African princess. I just hope they have good attitudes is all. I can even ignore a crappily made movie if the princess is a good character. I hope Moana is good (and non Disney but I cannot wait to see The Book of Life! The Day of the Dead is such an interesting holiday!)

Overall though, with princesses and heroines combined, it's a pretty good display of cultures (and kudos to Wreck it Ralph for representing so many ethnicities in the Sugar Rush kids). I only wish they'd stop making the white princesses have such generic nationalities- it;s like Europe is bland and generic save for Belle and the sisters who are the only ones with even remotely distinct ethnicities but all the non-white girls' cultures are special and exotic. why not all? but I'm still OK that some are generic because that's just how many Grimms tales are.

My favorite princesses growing up were Pocahontas, Esmeralda and Mulan. My current favorite is Tiana, and I'm biting at the bit waiting for Moana.

I don't think we need to push for more ethnic characters. If they come, great. If not, great. The next princess should be a PoC any way

We already have a white-washed media, more diversity (whether it's racial, ethnic, religious, sexual orientation, disability, etc) is badly needed.

More POC in the lineup, Disney. You're behind the times. Hint, hint!!!

It's not that I prefer seeing PoC characters but I'd definitely like to see more diversity in Disney films. I wouldn't mind seeing more Caucasian princesses but their are so many cultures that haven't been represented yet that would be cool to see them in films. Why should we just have 1 princess from each race?

Disney generally needs more diversity. I don't want Disney to make PoC simply because people were begging for a DP that is like them. Disney should add in diversed characters on their own whether it is a DP of color or a disabled princess.

Making only white princess like society like to call the people who're light skin is unrealistic wheater races people like it or not this world is full with people of a different race, sizes and colors.

We had so much diversity in the 90s, and it was great!

^I agree with you. Renaissance is the best Era is not just because of the plots are interesting, but also the ethnics are varies. While the Modern Era princess are all white (exception for Tiana). Not to mention all the four main characters of Wreck-it Ralph and Frozen are all white with moreover, the good ones in Frozen are all blondes. Oh Disney...

@Truth97, the fact of the matter is they're aren't many PoC characters, so I'm just asking people for clarification.

I'll just copy and paste what I said last time this was made:

I got to give Disney credit though for being one of the only companies that TRY to bring an aspect of diversity. But yeah, the lineup is in no way balanced. Just because Disney has covered some areas doesn't mean that they should just stop and keep making the same type princesses. The world is huge, it's not just mostly filled with the regular white colored woman we're so used too. And I really hope Disney spreads it out this time, unlike before when they had 4 colored princesses in a row then went back to her old habits.

I agree that it wouldn't effect whether I like the character or not and wouldn't effect their personalities, which is why I get so pissed off when I hear people say, "They should have made a Hispanic princess already instead of the cruddy _ princess here they made" because whether they are from France or Wisconsin that's not going to change. Either way, different ethnicities need representation in ALL media.

I wish to see other cultures and stories and that kind of leads wanting to see more PoC. But I would not like if the all the future leads were African-Americans or US hispanics for example, that would be just as dull as blonde American leads.
Alltough if that would happen people would complain less (they would not stop) about Disney PoC's so there would be something positive about that.
