SCENE 1: EXITING THE TARDIS

Begins as a fly-over of earth, then zooming into London, England where the TARDIS appears with the TARDIS landing sound effect. DOCTOR, ROSE, and JACK step out.


DOCTOR
Time travel. Brilliant, isn’t it?

JACK
So where are we this time? (looks around)

ROSE
It’s modern. A lot different than I’m used to, traveling with you, Doctor.

DOCTOR
Yes, quite an adventure (smiles)

JACK
Any reason why we’re here?

DOCTOR, JACK, and ROSE begin walking down the street


DOCTOR
Nope, but I’m sure something will happen. This is Earth; weird things happen every day!
(puts his arms over ROSE and JACK)

DOCTOR, JACK, and ROSE continue walking down the سٹریٹ, گلی and turn the corner. As soon as they leave, the ground shimmers with corrupted heat where they were standing. Sound effect for the heat is an odd hissing sound, almost resembling the sound of human laughter. Then heat waves disappear and the hissing subsides.

SCENE 2:

Camera goes back to DOCTOR, ROSE, and JACK. They are walking down a bustling سٹریٹ, گلی full of activity. People have set up stands and are selling miscellaneous items. Jack walks up to one of the stands.





JACK
(extends his arm to shake the worker’s hand) Hello, my name’s Captain Jack Harkness. And آپ are?

DOCTOR
There’s a time and a place, Jack.

JACK
Can’t I just say hello?

DOCTOR shakes his head while ROSE tries not to laugh. DOCTOR, ROSE, and JACK walk away.

DOCTOR
Don’t get distracted, Jack. The TARDIS brought us here for a reason, and I don’t know why yet, so keep your eyes and ears open for anything alien and unusual.

ROSE
(laughing) Like آپ then?

DOCTOR
(smiling) مزید weird than me, Rose.

ROSE
Doctor, آپ کہا آپ saved planets and alien races. This isn’t even a foreign country! This is Earth!

Ground behind DOCTOR, ROSE, and JACK shimmers with the same corrupted heat as before, with the same hissing sound. But this time, DOCTOR notices the sound.

DOCTOR
What was that? Did آپ hear that?

JACK
Hear what?

ROSE
That snake sound?

DOCTOR
Yes, Rose! Fantastic! But, I’m sure its not a snake. It almost resembled…

ROSE
Human laughter?


DOCTOR
Yes, exactly. But, the سوال is, WHAT made that noise…?

DOCTOR, ROSE and JACK turn around deliberately slowly, and look down to where the hissing came from, but find nothing.

DOCTOR
It’s gone!

JACK
Doctor, we don’t even know what it was.

ROSE
Maybe it’s a good thing that it’s gone.

DOCTOR
But that sound… its not a normal sound. It sounds alien. And aliens don’t just leave…

JACK
I wonder what it looks like.

DOCTOR
Well, lets just continue and let me know the moment آپ hear that sound again.

JACK
Okay, Doctor! Well then, lets go get some lunch, because I don’t think we’ve anything better to do. And I cannot say hello to anyone… (Glances meaningfully at DOCTOR)

ROSE
Hey, it’s not his fault, Jack.

DOCTOR
(smiles) Let’s just get some lunch as آپ said, Jack.

JACK
I heard there’s a nice place down the road-

DOCTOR
Ok. Let’s go!

When they walk, the heat appears where they were standing again, with the same hissing sound, but this time it’s louder. Yet DOCTOR, ROSE and JACK are too far away already to hear it.

SCENE 3:

Same سٹریٹ, گلی as before zoomed in on the heat. Then TOBY walks سے طرف کی and steps through the heat. Instant zoom in on TOBY’s face and we see his eyes change from regular blue eyes, to lifeless eyes, to red eyes, the color of molten lava. Then, that flickers and goes back to human eyes, and the hissing subsides as the red in TOBY’S eyes fades, and TOBY falls lifeless to the ground. Civilians scream in horror. DOCTOR, ROSE, and JACK are sitting in a restaurant when they hear screaming.

ROSE
Trouble?

DOCTOR
Oh, yeah. There was a reason why the TARDIS brought us here!

ROSE
We’d better find out what that reason was. Is someone hurt?

DOCTOR
Well, we’re about to find out.

DOCTOR, JACK, and ROSE are seen from a distance running towards TOBY. Civilians have already crowded around him.
