Eyes wide awake but squeezed tightly shut
The dark consumes it all

But no one is there

Panting and sweating
The dark thrives off your suffering

Waiting for it's new night of games
Curled tightly into a ball under the sheets
Sitting, refusing to lay back down
Eyes heavy but unwavering
Scrolling through a screen for something to distract you
Time passes mind unable to shut off
Laying atop covers, counting backwards
Willing sleep come find آپ in the morning
Without its tortures and torments
But insomnia fell for you
Holding آپ tightly in it's sweet embrace
Choosing to rather sit and be with آپ awake

These dark circles and lidded eyes
