Fanpop Etiquette Article: Unhappy On Fanpop ? ? ?

I've been with Fanpop for almost five months now and at first I thought it was a really happy place, I've made ten spots and all of them are doing well, I save, rate and always comment, however I've finally seen the nasty side of Fanpop, my first spot copped a lot of flack because it was classed as 'another random spot' but it's going strong and gaining شائقین as is most 'other' duplicate spots I've seen, all of my spots have been a great form of creativity and experience for me, it sounds too good to be true, AND IT IS because there is some really nasty people on our happy Fanpop place, people who leave mean comments, it's happened to me and I've seen some real sh***t slinging matches and verbal یا 'web' abuse that goes beyond belief, I almost left Fanpop when it first happened to me but I carried on doing what I was doing and stuck with it, but it's not a good example for our future Fanpoppers and the newbies who haven't been here long, people leaving nasty تبصرے regarding images, abusing and swearing at each other in forums, bagging each others spots and ideas, and people whining about duplicate spots and image credit, as I've mentioned before, threats about reporting people, it's getting really ugly, is anyone up for some 'fun' on Fanpop? because I'm staying, I'm not quitting and I'm going to set an example سے طرف کی standing my ground and continue to have fun on Fanpop, and that's true etiquette plus ! ! !

chel1395 Lovely article...I didn't realize there was so much mud-slinging going on, but happily there enough wonderful people here on Fanpop (*casually points at self*) to counter the bad people. I'm thrilled you will be staying on Fanpop, hugs all around!! :D

vider69 I don't like to report people but if I 'did' I could count over ten really nasty people on Fanpop right now and I'm sure that they know who they are.

housediva Dont get discouraged. There are always going to be those who are just looking for an argument or an excuse to be nasty. Stick to the nicer sites. I can vouch for House md. and a couple of other sites. Chel has been around a long time and is always a pleasure to hear from. Hang in there...as long as its fun. Why waste your time somewhere that makes you feel bad?

0524wes08 People are going to be nasty no matter what you do.That is why I'd stop coming up with new quiz or stating a Star's facts on Fanpop.I am glad that you brought this up cause some people out there need to be taught some manner.THANKS for staying.

pink_martini2 Yea I hate trolls who go to spot of things they don't like and then flame the spot and everything in it. I don't understand. it's Fanpop. its in the name. If you aren't a fan of the spot, then don't go into it. Just go away. I get really frustrated with people who think just because they're anon they can say what they want. I've had far as people going to the forums and posting ugly messages like "Ew. This spot needs to be deleted." I mean seriously? People grow up!

jarik I always strive to make positive comments because I think if you can't anything nice it's best to say nothing at all. I've come across some abusive and racist remarks from some people. So I'll never contact those people again.

jedigal1990 though i do admit that image credits are a big deal for me if you don't credit it your taking it as your own and its not fair and also duplicate spots sorry but i just don't think its fair that people create a spot that already exsists and takes all the others fans and stuff but there is a fine line between informing those people and being nasty about it

Managing Previously Uploaded ویڈیوز

So this may seem a little "anal" of me, but I run into a lot of ویڈیوز گیا کیا پوسٹ on spots that are broken, and for that, I رپورٹ them. Still, I wonder why it's so difficult for the original poster to go back through some of the things they previously گیا کیا پوسٹ every once in a while (every 3 months?) to check which ویڈیوز may now have a copyright claim, etc. I certainly don't mind cleaning up spots سے طرف کی reporting broken content, but it is very time consuming...

As a tip, and to make this job easier for people who contribute a lot, broken ویڈیوز often have a gray video camera as the image instead of...

Proper Etiquette For پرستار Pick سوالات

I have created quiet a few spots now and I love contributions of any kind, but I am surprised at how many people will pick on 'any' پرستار pick سوال just for the sake of it even if they don't like the subject at hand.
Perfect examples of this behavior is what I have noticed not only on spots that I've created but many other spots as well, someone may put up a سوال such as: 'Do آپ Like The Movie Enchanted?' and someone will answer 'Never Seen It' یا another question, say - 'Which Bambi تصویر Is Your Favorite?' only for someone to come up with 'I Hate Bambi.'
It's not whether آپ are a fan...

Picks are NOT made for advertising!

Just a little heads up.

It has been going on for awhile, but I've noticed it especially most recently. The bottom line of this entire مضمون lays in its title: pick's aren't made for advertising.

Repetitively, picks are being created that ask "I've just made a spot for ___, will آپ شامل میں it?", یا something along those lines. Picks like these aren't really opinions and hold little gumption in terms of an interesting سروے یا contrasting گیا پڑھا مرتبہ on a subject. Picks like these are being made to solicit new spots, which isn't what picks are for.

Unsubscribing From Spots

I decided to write this مضمون because I have seen سوالات being asked about unsubscribing from spots and I have dropped a few spots myself.
The only two reasons I will drop a spot is if the spot has little یا no content یا the topic isn't exactly a پسندیدہ of mine, even if I thought it would be.
I do admit that I feel like a real mean کتیا, کتيا when I decide to leave a spot and I'm not here to redeem myself یا make excuses, but to help other شائقین who are in a similar situation as I am and also hopefully for some feedback, تبصرے and ideas.

I hate chain letters in my e-mail box. I do not want to see them in my Fanpop updates.

Hello, seekers of good جوابات to burning questions! It has come to my attention that an official guide to using the new جوابات feature is necessary in order to prevent abuse of this fabulous new fun feature.

Enough Is Enough

I am so sick of all the nastiness and sarcasm that goes on in Fanpop, through the forums, via پرستار pick سوالات and تبصرے left regarding تصاویر etc.
And I'm sick of being so nice about it when there's only so much one person can take, I've almost left Fanpop on a few occasions because of 'some' peoples attitudes here and I'm over it.
I have been on Fanpop for almost a سال now and I'm not nasty to people, I get on here and do my thing and contribute as much as I can, but if I cop anymore shit یا see people being nasty to other people here I will رپورٹ them and I'll name all of the 'nasties'...

Your Spot یا Not Your Spot?

I think that this مضمون belongs here in opposed to 'Fanpop Spots' because it is a Fanpop Etiquette issue, as well as a spot یا club issue.
When آپ شامل میں a spot it appears in your ڈیٹس اپ as one of your spots and so do the ones آپ create, I've heard some people say that a spot that آپ created 'isn't your spot' now I know that the spots belong to Fanpop and I realize that 'most' of آپ would be very proud of your creations just as I am of mine.
However if آپ are the spot creator then 'in my opinion' the spot is yours to some degree, آپ create the spot, only آپ can change the banner, icon...

Heterosexism on Fanpop

So I tried to think of a catchier title, but I figured I might as well just call it what it is. I have seen instances of (what I believe to be unintentional) heterosexism in several Fanpop picks. As evidenced سے طرف کی link, however, some believe it to be intentional.

Now I'm not trying to whine about wording یا being politically correct. In fact, I'm not politically correct in the slightest, as anyone who knows me well enough will tell you.
