Chapter Twenty-Two
Alfred's POV
That IDIOT! Running off on her own like that! I bet she's dead سے طرف کی now! I kicked the درخت trunk. Hard. Ow.
“I heard آپ yelling. What happened?” Matthew ran up to me, Gilbert close behind.
“The idiot ran off on her own.” I shook my head. Gilbert cursed and jumped out of the tree, running into the field after her. Matthew waved to the Francis and Feliciano (and had to try several times), who were soon chasing after Gilbert. Deciding not to be left behind, I ran after them.
I should keep a better grip on my sister.
End Alfred's POV
When I woke up, I found I had a blind-fold on. Reaching up to take it off, I also found that my hands were tied.
“Who are you? I've seen آپ before, I can't remember your name. Friend یا foe?” A harsh female voice asked me. I'd recognize that voice anywhere.
“Elizaveta? It's Zana. Zana Jones. I'm Alfred's little sister. I'm a friend.” I smiled at the person I could not see. I felt hands untie me, and I took off my blindfold. There stood Elizaveta, along with Lili.
Lili was a small girl, who looked a lot younger than me, with short blonde hair and huge green eyes. She was usually quiet, but always stood up for her friends. Elizaveta was a strong young woman with long brown hair, a Hungarian accent, and she always carried a frying pan. No one knows exactly why, but she loves to ذائقہ, مارنا people with it. I suspect that was what knocked me unconscious.
“Zana, is it? Alfred's sister? Hmm, if you're anything like your big brother, you're just a nuisance. Well, we'll see. Do آپ know a man named Dennis?” Elizaveta asked.
“Yes, he's my brother. Where is he?”
“God, how many 'Jones's are there?” She rolled her eyes. Lili kept a straight face, guarding what looked like a metal door in the corner, but it was too dark to confirm. “Mr. Jones Number 39 یا whatever, is under quarantine.”
I nodded. “I heard from...” I coughed. “From Scottie that Dennis has gone mad. On a different matter, where am I?”
“You're under the safehouse. It was built so that there were two floors: One for living quarters, and one for emergencies. Level Two was designed to be even safer than the first floor, equip with heavy steel doors and an armory. Right now آپ are in room 23B.” She answered.
“What happened to everyone else?” I looked from Elizaveta to Lili. Lili's head turned away from me, and Elizaveta held hers in shame.
“They're dead.”
Gilbert's POV
Idiot! Idiot idiot idiot! She could be dead! As I ran through the field, I kept thinking of the things I would say to her when I found her. If she was alive.
Zombies whizzed سے طرف کی me as I was shooting through the field. Idiot! I could hear the others running behind me, when one of them screamed.
“FRANCIS!” Alfred yelled. I heard awful noises, but I dared not look back. So one down. Only four of us left, not counting Zana. Matthew ran up beside me.
“You're going too fast. None of us can keep up!” He huffed.
“Too bad.” I surged forward, Matthew cursing under his breath.
Zana is going to make it back alive, whether I like it یا not.
