I can read hiragana :), and now I'm learning about katakana and kanji

漢字 FTW

I only know hiragana. XD Kanji is just too hard for me and I haven't begun to learn katakana yet. XD Plus I think the hiragana characters are pretty looking!

ugh i like kanji it's easy to read(kinda) but since i don't know that much of kanji, i have to go with hiragana

I first learned the Katakana one, then I started to learn the Romaji, then I end up with learning Hiragana & Kanji.

Kanji is necessary, I can't imagine reading all hiragana all the time @.@ what a headache...

I think hiragana is easiest! And I found out how to type it on my keyboard (American) so I can learn easier! Hiragana is fun! Katakana is annoying. And Kanji... well... Kanji is Kanji-- nuff said.

Kanji may be difficult, but they're definitely necessary!
First of all, reading an entire sentence in kana is ridiculously hard because the Japanese don't usually use spaces, so the words run together.
Second of all, because kanji have meaning, I can often understand combinations of kanji that I've never seen before if I know most of the kanji that make them up, allowing me to read sentences with words I never learned. Sometimes I can even guess the meaning of a kanji I don't know simply based on the radicals that make it up and the kanji that surround it!
They really do help facilitate understanding when reading, and it's hard to mix up a word with its homonym when they're written completely differently! :)
