Can anyone explain the ending of The Shining (1980) to me?

[SPOILER] So, a crazed Jack froze to death in that large maze, I could understand that. But then a portrait was shown of a 1921 July ball of Overlook Hotel, featuring a guy who looked just like him. Who was that, the killer before Jack? I don't get it. I feel like I need to know, because this is one of the most epic فلمیں I've watched yet.

I cannot say for sure but I will tell آپ how I took it. There is a scene ( been a long time cannot remember who it was) but they used the line "you have always been here." I belive that Jack was what the hotel wanted. Like how the car chose the boy for its owner in christene. He was the guy the place needed. I THINK that is what went down.(SORRY... probably confused آپ more...I TRIED!!!)

So, from your view, The Shining is a ghost story? Because Overlook Hotel is haunted?
