Rarity's funeral was a week after her remains were found. Twilight had discovered the corpse in the boutique when she had gone searching for a type of gem to use in a spell. Hidden behind a سوفی, لٹانا she discovered Sweetie Belle. She had bloodshot eyes and was trembling uncontrolablly. Twilight, the Royal Guards, even Princess Celestia had all attempted to interview the traumatized filly, but it was all in vane. After a few مزید attempts, Sweetie Belle was declared mentally insane. Instead of locking her in an asylum, Celestia decided to place the filly in a loving home. Sweetie's parents had died a while ago, so the princess decided to send the insane infant to the سیب, ایپل Family. If only the princess knew what would happen, she wouldn't have sent the filly there.

"Ah told آپ to stop calling me that!"
I glared at the گلابی filly who had just insulted me. Her smile didn't waver a bit.
"I can call آپ whatever I feel like calling you," Diamond replied,"Blank flank!"
Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon continued mocking me. I sighed in annoyance and continued on my way home. If it weren't for these two bullies, I would've skipped home. My sister, Applejack, had کہا that my best friend, Sweetie Belle would come to live with us at Sweet سیب, ایپل Acres.
"Admit it, Applebloom," Silver کہا with a sneer, "You'll never get a cutie mark."
That's when I just about lost it.
"Oh yeah? Well," I screamed in reply, "what's your talent? Eating like a hog with a dainty silver spoon?"
Silver gawked at me with her beady eyes, almost instantly, a smile found a way to her lips.
"Even if that were true," she shot back,"at least I would have a cutie mark!"
That left me stunned for a second, which was just enough time for Diamond Tiara to kick me in the flank.
"Ow! Hey," I yelped, "what is wrong with you?"
"Silver? Did آپ hear something?" Diamond کہا with a grin.
"No," Spoon replied, "I think آپ hit a frog یا something."
The two clique-ish fillies broke into laughter before trotting away to their homes, leaving me sitting in the road, rubbing my sore flank. I carefully stood up and cantered down the road to my family's farm. I wish Scootaloo weren't in flight school and that Sweetie Belle were back from Canterlot. I sighed and continued down the road.





"Applejack! Ah'm back from school. Applejack?" I looked around for my sister. I heard some noise in my room and decided to check it out. Sure enough, applejack کی, اپپلیجاک was in the room comforting a grey ٹٹو that was screaming and crying. I was about to ask her what was going on, when applejack کی, اپپلیجاک ushered me out of the room.
"Where in tarnation where ya, missy? Ah'd been waiting for آپ for eternity!"
"But Ah'm only a couple منٹ late!"
"Don't ya use yer fancy mathematics on me, young lady!"
I rolled my eyes in annoyance. applejack کی, اپپلیجاک could be a real pain in the mud hole. Trying to get away from our argument, I asked what was at the سب, سب سے اوپر of my mind.
"Who is that ٹٹو and what's she doin' in mah room?"
applejack کی, اپپلیجاک stared at me in surprise.
"Yah honestly don't know her?" she asked cautiously.
"Nope."
"It's Sweetie Belle."
It couldn't be Sweetie Belle.
"Ah thought she was in Canterlot with the royals."
"She was," applejack کی, اپپلیجاک replied,"the princess sent her here to get better."
I went over and started talking to Sweetie, who told me everything that she had seen in Canterlot. Her voice sounded different, however, it was raspy and metallic. She shook it off saying that her vocal chords had been damaged and that the princess had attempted to heal her. We ate some watercress کے, واٹرکریسس sandwiches and went to sleep.

"Then Pokey Pierce got near some balloons and accidentally popped them. Nurse Sprat got scared and started screaming!" Sweetie was telling me what happened to her nurse in the mental ward as we walked back to my house from school. She continued chatting when she suddenly yelped. I peeked behind us and saw that Silver Spoon had purposely stepped on Sweetie's tail. Diamond approached and kicked Sweetie in the face. The white filly collapsed and began sobbing. Diamond then came face to face with me. She lifted her hoof and struck it upon my snout. I shrieked as blood flowed from my nostrils. The گلابی ٹٹو sneered as my friend and I cried.
"Hey Silver," she called to her friend, "bonehead and mud ٹٹو are back!"
"Yeah," Silver replied, "now we just need horsefly to complete the group of blank flanks!"
The two bullies broke into مزید laughter.
"Why are آپ doing this to us?" Sweetie asked between sobs.
"Hey Diamond," the grey filly said, "bonehead has a new voice!"
"Leave us alone please." I begged.
Diamond approched and kicked Sweetie in the ribs. The white filly's screams of pain were muffled سے طرف کی Diamond Tiara's hoof.
"Shut up یا I'll hit آپ harder!" She yelled at Sweetie.
I struggled to get up and trotted gently towards Diamond. She turned to look at me as if in surprise. A smile crawled onto my face as I pushed her with my forehooves. The گلابی filly fell facefirst on the road. She started sobbing as she stood up and rubbed her snout with her hoof. She cried louder as she saw her hoof was stained with red. I felt a warm feeling in my stomach as I saw the bloody filly. I would later learn that the warm feeling was joy. Diamond ran off. I leapt at Silver and dug my hoof into her stomach. She screamed in pain and doubled over for a سیکنڈ before running after Diamond. As soon as they were out sight, the feeling left. I turned towards Sweetie, who was staring at me wide-eyed. I couldn't tell if it was in shock, awe, یا maybe even fear. I helped her up and cantered towards my family's farm. We were silent the rest of the way.

Once avain, applejack کی, اپپلیجاک got angry when we got home. Every time I tried to say something, she would yell even louder. Sweetie Belle sat silently, staring at our discussion. I once مزید felt something in my gut, but this was different. It was as if all the anger I had bottled inside me just exploded.
"Will ya just shut up?!" I yelled at Applejack.
My sister went silent, her green eyes were wide in shock. I grabbed Sweetie's hoof and dragged her off into my room. As soon as I closed the door, I told Sweetie Belle everything. As soon as I finished, Sweetie's eyes widened as if in trance.
"Death, pain, carnage, blood!" She کہا in the same trance like state.
"What?"
Sweetie Belle seemed to have broken out of her trance.
I shook it off as some freak accident and decided to go to sleep.

"Applebloom! Wake up! We gotta go to school! It's Miss Cheerilee's birthday party"
I slowly opened an eye to see the frantic white filly. Her گلابی and purple mane had been curled. She was also wearing a bright purple bow that seemed similar to the one I wore most of the time. She had my hairbow in a hoof and a manebrush on another. After I was ready, we darted to school. سے طرف کی the time we got there, the party had started. Cheerilee was wearing a party crown and was surrounded سے طرف کی foals. They were all singing the happy birthday song to the purple mare. Sweetie and I hurried to شامل میں them. As soon as that was over, the schoolteacher gave us all a piece of cake. The pastry was the same colour as Cheerilee's کوٹ and had the same design as the mare's cutiemark. As soon as I saw Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, I gave a yelp of fear. They both had bruises on their faces. Their eyes, however, seethed with hate. That's when they saw me.
"Eek! I think they saw me." I squeaked at Sweetie.
"They did."
I placed my hooves on my face and ducked.
"What are آپ doing here, mudpony?" I looked up and saw Diamond and Silver looking at me.
I shrieked and stood up straight.
"Not so tough now, are آپ mudpony? Well," Diamond sneered, "I guess you're only strong when you're covered in dirt."
The two fillies giggled. Once more, anger boiled in my guts. I threw the only thing visible, a piece of purple cake. The purple pastry landed on Diamond Tiara's face. Sweetie threw her cake at Silver, who was smart enough to duck. Diamond screamed in rage.
"I've had it with you! I'm going to get آپ and throw آپ into the Canterlot River!" Diamond threatened me loudly.
Cheerilee heard the threat. "Diamond Tiara! Applebloom! Come here for a minute."
The feeling once again filled me as the گلابی filly threw me a stool. It only scraped me in the flank, but I was infuriated at Diamond Tiara. My mind went blank as I lunged at Diamond. Every other foal ہے, بچھیری backed away as the گلابی filly and I wrestled. She used her hooves to scrape me and her teeth to bite me. I did the same. When she managed to throw me off, she approched with a ruler in hoof. Her mane had been disheveled and her signature tiara was nowhere to be found. I reached out to get something to fight her back with. When I felt something, I dug it into Diamond's chest. I then realized what I'd done. I had dug a چھری into the گلابی pony's chest. The hilt was still visible as a spurt of blood popped from the wound. Everypony in the room gasped in surprise as Diamond Tiara's pupils dilated and the filly herself dropped dead from blood loss. Some pointed at me and muttered words such as murder, killer, assassin, and monster. I looked at Sweetie Belle, who remained silent, but her eyes کہا one word run! I followed her advice and ran away.

It was the middle of the night, yet I had somehow managed to remain awake. In my other hoof I held a bloody knife. With the smile I had made for myself, I could smile forever, even in death.
"Applebloom," applejack کی, اپپلیجاک began, "what in tarnation are ya-"
My sister's gasp cut in midsentece as I turned to smile at her.
"Ya know what Pinkie always says: Come on everypony, smile, smile, smile!" I repeated in the گلابی pony's sing song voice.
"What did ya do to your face?" applejack کی, اپپلیجاک کہا in a quivering voice.
"Ya like it? Ah made it myself!"
"Why?"
"That way Ah can smile forever! Ah'll make ya one if ya want!"
My sister backed away slowly. "No! No, no, please no!"
"Wrong answer!" I کہا as I leaped at Applejack, چھری aimed at her face.
