10 years after the war

Lucy
Chapter 1:

It was a nice, golden دن in October, and I was flying above the park to make sure no one was in the way of our game. “All clear, guys!”

“Aw yeah!” called Daredevil, who was on the other side of the field setting up the goals. “I love a good game of بادل soccer!”

“A-are آپ sure its s-safe?” stammered Lucky from below. “I d-don’t think this is s-such a good idea. I th-think I’m gonna go home.”

“Oh, no آپ don’t!” کہا Daredevil. He flew right into Luckys' face, startling the light purple pegasi. “I need آپ on my team. I can’t do it without you, whenever you're on my team we always win. آپ got that, missy?” Lucky blinked, then reluctantly nodded her head. “Good. Now, get yourself up here and give me fifty laps!”

I chuckled at their antics. “Don’t be so hard on her,” I chimed, flicking my light blonde mane out of my face. “She doesn’t have to play.”

"Hey, she isn't called Lucky for nothing!" Daredevil remarked. He snorted like a bull, blowing his unruly black-and-red mane out from his face. His eyes, a crystalline blue a few shades lighter than Luckys', shined definitely.

Ok, lets stop there so I can introduce آپ to my دوستوں and I. I’m Lucy. I have a blonde mane and tail, and a white coat. My cutie mark is a pencil crossed over a pen. Its for my love of writing.

My friend, Daredevil, is one of those guys who are a good, trustworthy friend to have, but a horrible enemy. He's naive and quick to anger, but he can be pleasant when its only آپ and him. His mother once told me he was a little piece of sunshine before the war started, but they went through some pretty rough stuff after their house was bombed. His mane used to be a deep sea blue, but he dyed it black and red to represent the blood and ash of the war.

Lucky here is the shy one of the group, scarred سے طرف کی the deaths of her parents. She’s kind of like a quiet little rabbit who dives in their hole if آپ startle her. She hangs out with us a lot, as her adoptive parents are often busy struggling with the little دکان they run back in the city. Despite all of her misfortunes, her cutie mark is a horseshoe from the luck she has when playing games یا competitions.

I rolled my eyes at Daredevil, and opened my muzzle to remark, but was cut off سے طرف کی an annoyingly high-pitched voice.

“Well, well, well, look whos playing a game of بادل soccer. I bet I could block the goal blindfolded, knowing how well آپ play.”

Out of the trees came April and her Unicorn clique. “Hah! I bet I can kick it farther that آپ ever could,” she sneered.

Daredevil turned around slowly, a deep snarl reverberating from his chest. “What was that?” he asked calmly. Uh-oh. Daredevil is never calm towards unicorns unless...

“I کہا I can kick a ball farther than آپ could,” she repeated, admiring her manicured hooves.

“I’ll take that as a challenge,” he replied coolly. “Lucky, bring me a ball. Any one will do.” With a nod of her head, Lucky flew off to find a durable ball for بادل soccer.

“What are آپ doing?!” I murmured into his ear.

“Sticking up for pegasi, thats what,” he whispered back. "Hey!" he shouted to the unicorns. "Go find a ball, snots. Get that leather one آپ always use, یا something." He turned back to me and snickered. I blinked, confused. He grinned. “April’s going to be in for a surprise.”

Lucky came back with the ball. It was گلابی and sparkly, and had grinning purple hippos all over it. I almost laughed, but I held it in. آپ don’t laugh in front of Daredevil in public, unless he laughs first.

“Here,” she کہا shyly. “It was the only one I could find.”

Daredevil glared at the ball with utter contempt, then sighed. “It's good enough. Just اگلے time, try and find one less...” He paused for a moment, gathering his words. “Girly.”

Lucky avoided his gaze, realizing her mistake. “Are آپ done yet?” barked April. “I don’t have all day. I have a mani-pedi at 3:00, and I don’t intend to miss it.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Daredevil huffed. He turned to me, chuckling quietly. “Oh, she's gonna need مزید than a mani-pedi when we're done with her.”

I frowned. The rivalry between the pegasi and unicorn I found plain dumb. Many years ago, unicorns and pegasi had banded together to fight off a great force of demonic creatures called Whorlings. Apparently, there was another group called Earth ponies, but they have been extinct for so long no one really believes in them anymore, except me. After the Whorlings were defeated, secrets about spies and a mishap among the generals were revealed, and political infirmities arose at a vulnerable time.

"Who's gonna ref?" I asked Daredevil. He lifted his head, scanning the crowd at the park. His eyes fell on a tall pegasi with a soft pale گلابی mane gracing her shoulders and a sunset مالٹا, نارنگی coat. She had a hardened look in her gaze, but a glimmer of kindness and another emotion that I couldn't name shone in her lavender eyes as she saw us. Daredevil smirked. "Hey, Scootaloo! Can ya ref our game?" Scootaloo's hooves clicked sharply on the pavement as she left the sidewalk. She stood, intimidating, over us. Smiling stonily, she said, “Cloud soccer? This’ll be interesting.”

“Ok, here are the rules,” Scootaloo called out in her military voice. Living with قوس قزح Dash, a leader in the National Pegasi Army, really rubbed off on her. “Each team will elect a person to kick their respective ball. Each team will only get one chance to kick it as far as آپ can, and آپ have to make it past the goal. The ٹٹو with the farthest kick past the goal wins. Magic is not permitted. Any questions?" No one argued.

“Bring it on.” I declared.

“It’s settled then,” shouted Scootaloo. “I will give آپ all three منٹ to decide who will be kicking and who’s not.

“I’ll do it,” Daredevil volunteered.

Lucky muttered something then looked expectantly at us, thinking that we had heard her. “What was that? I can’t hear you?” I questioned.

She muttered something again but it was still too faint to be heard.

“Didn’t quite catch that.”

She took a deep breath. “I would like to do it.”

“You?! Hah!” Daredevil laughed. Lucky looked at the ground. I poked him in the ribs. “What? She can’t kick a ball a foot. آپ know that.”

“Maybe we should give her a chance.” I proposed. “It’ll sure give her some confidence.” I gave him کتے dog eyes. No one can say no to my کتے dog eyes.

“Ok fine,” he grumbled. “Lucky can be our kicker.”

“The three منٹ are up. Send your representatives up to the center of the field.” Lucky flew to the center. April followed, Scootaloo glaring pointedly at her. Yeah, قوس قزح Dash had definitely rubbed off on her.

“Good luck,” April whispered in Lucky’s ear. “You're gonna need it.”

“The pegasi are first. Take your mark.” Lucky picked up the soccer ball and placed it in front of her right hoof.

“On your mark... get set... KICK!”

Lucky kicked the ball. My mouth dropped open. It had landed on the other side of the field. Exactly a quarter of a mile. April smirked. “Oh, thats nothing.” She levitated her ball so it was in front of her left foot.

“On your mark... get set... KICK!”

I turned around to see a swarm of bees the size of a تربوز, واٹرمیلاون -a very ripe one, mind you- come out of the soccer ball she kicked. “Wh-whats that?” yelled one of April’s sidekicks over the buzz of the bees.

“Oh its just a swarm of wasps,” taunted Dare. “I think آپ may of disturbed their nest so آپ may wanna run for your lives if آپ don’t wanna ruin your pretty little hooves. Besides آپ have a mani-pedi at three and I don’t think آپ wanna miss it.”

Suddenly the swarm came flying down of the Unicorns. A blood curdling scream came out of April’s mouth as one of the wasps stung her back leg. One scream after another came out of her mouth as she started to sprint away from the Wasps.

She and her posse scampered on the grass, their hooves taking them all the way back to Canterlot. “You did that on purpose!” She yelled over her shoulder amidst screams of terror from her friends. “This isn’t over! آپ will pay for this!” As soon as they were gone, all of us burst out laughing. Even Scootaloo.

Dare chuckled as they ran away. “Serves آپ right, آپ unicorns! No one messes with these pegasi!” He turned to us. “Hey lets all go the Ariel’s for some ice cream to celebrate our win!”

“Sounds good to me,” I called, leaving the field, recalling their expressions and screams as we flew.

Chapter 2:

“Who would’ve known a little pegasi like آپ could have that powerful of a kick,” Scootaloo, face still flushed from laughing. She patted Lucky on the back with her wing. “That right there was probably one of the best kicks I’ve ever seen.”

A faint red tinge decorated Lucky’s cheeks. “Thanks.” She muttered shyly behind her light purple hair.

“Come on, slowpokes! Pick up the pace! Its gonna be dark سے طرف کی the time we get to Ariel’s at the rate we're going!” Daredevil called over his shoulder. He was always the one to lead the group. Most of the time he flew ahead, just because he liked to prove he was faster than the rest of us.

“Oh shut up, Dare,” I replied. “It’s not like we have plans for the night. I was just gonna go ہوم and hang out after I got some of Ariel's ice cream. آپ can come if آپ want.”

“I think I’ll pass. I would rather spend my time at the gym workin’ out یا somethin.” He said, دکھانا off his muscles defiantly.

“You sure about that? I have your پسندیدہ video games,” I cooed.

“Ponyboy 3?” The pegasi looked me dead in the eye as we flew.

“Yup. The first and سیکنڈ one, also. Theres some kettle corn, too,” I teased. Daredevil eats kettle مکئی سے طرف کی the bucketful, so I knew that it was enough to get him to come over.

“Oh, why not,” he slowed down so he could fly اگلے to me. “As long as آپ don’t play any pranks like last time.”

I chuckled crossing my hooves behind my back. “Of course not.”

“Liar!” he said, laughing. “Last one to Ariel’s pays for the meal!” He sped off towards Ponyville, Scootaloo at his tail. I stayed behind with Lucky. She looked upset, like something was bugging her.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

She shook her head as if doing so would get rid of what was on her mind. “Nothing.”

“Come on,” I coaxed. “You can tell me. I promise I won’t tell anyone.”

“I-I can’t,” She stuttered. “I promised I wouldn’t tell. Lets catch up with the others.” She sped off, leaving me in a بادل of dust. That doesn’t surprise me. Lucky never tells secrets. She’s loyal in that kind of way. I still wanted to know what was bugging her, so to keep myself from getting frustrated, I went over to Fluttershy’s for some of her green tea. Since I am talking about Fluttershy, I might as well tell آپ something.

All of the main six تقسیم, الگ کریں up. applejack کی, اپپلیجاک and Pinkie took all of the earth ponies into the Everfree forest and never returned when the Whorlings attacked. Rarity and Twilight left for Canterlot to find Princess Luna, which is pointless because all Alicorns were hunted after the war. قوس قزح left to شامل میں the National Pegasi Army. Fluttershy stayed in Ponyville with nothing but Angel to keep her company. Every once in awhile I will go to visit her and just to see how she is doing.

I trotted down the worn path to her cottage. Once I arrived, I knocked on her cottage door. I waited for a few minutes. Nopony answered. Thats odd. I thought Fluttershy normally leaves a note on the door if she is going out. “Fluttershy? آپ there? Its me Lucy.” I knocked on the door again, then opened it a crack and stepped inside. I gasped.

The floor and shelves were covered in dust. Cobwebs had formed in every nick and cranny. Food in the fridge had spoiled and were covered in flakes of green mold. It appeared as if nopony had lived here in a long time. The smell of rotten flesh filled my nostrils, and I looked to my left for the ذریعہ of the smell. A horrible scream ripped from my throat. Angel, Fluttershy’s pet bunny, was dead on the floor. The poor bunnies stomach was tiny and آپ could see it’s ribcage. Must have starved to death, I thought. To prove my point, teeth marks on the wood showed signs of a small animal looking for something to eat, and all the food on the bottom shelf in the باورچی خانے, باورچی خانہ had already been eaten.

There was one thing I knew for certain, was that Fluttershy never leaves an animal, especially Angel, for too long. And most of the time Angel goes with her. But why would she leave Angel to starve? And if so, what’s مزید important to Fluttershy than Angel? Thoughts filled my head as I raced to Ariel's.

Chapter 3:

The گھنٹی, بیل jingled behind me as I entered her shop. Daredevil, Scootaloo, and Lucky had already sat down at a booth near the back. “Hey Lucy! Get your little behind over here!” called Daredevil after taking a lick of his triple chocolate ice-cream. Lucky sat in the corner اگلے to Scootaloo. She avoided my gaze. I took a نشست اگلے to Daredevil.

“What took آپ so long?” asked Scootaloo. She glanced at her watch. “I gotta fly in like 5 منٹ یا قوس قزح is gonna freak out.” I explained what I had witnessed with the rest of the group.

“I thought they کہا they wouldn’t go for another week,” muttered Lucky, thinking that none of us could hear her.

“What was that?” Daredevil said.

“Nothing. I didn’t say anything.” Lucky shrunk back into the corner. Daredevil spat into her face. “What do آپ know?! Tell me.”

“No.” squeaked Lucky.

“Tell me!” screamed Daredevil.

“I کہا NO!” Lucky yelled then ran out of the shop, leaving her half eaten ice cream behind.

“Wait! I didn’t mean it, come back!” he called after her. “I’ll see آپ guys later! Lucky, wait!” He flew out the door.

“Well I guess it’s just آپ and me huh?” stated Scootaloo. She glancing at the clock on the wall. “Actually, I gotta run. Call me if آپ need anything.” She placed two bits on the میز, جدول and, with a nod of her head, she was gone.

April 3rd, 2012
Chapter 4 :

Tremors shook the earth as blood coated the ground. A lone mare stumbled through the haze, آگ کے, آگ biting his whipped skin. A roar, loud as thunder, reverberated in the starless sky and the he tripped, his blood-matted mane obscuring his vision. The Whorling stood over him, its ice blue eyes the last thing the he saw before the Whorling sunk its rust red teeth into his throat. The Whorling pulled out the mare’s دل with its fangs still inserted in the his neck. Gurgling noises came from his mouth as he died. The Whorling’s black leather skin shone in the eerie red light as mares دل dripped blood from the monsters muzzle. In eating the heart, the Whorling had gained the all the life he had left, making the Whorling stronger.

Chapter 5:

I sat in the corner of the booth for another five minutes, soaking in the events I had just witnessed. Lucky knew something and I don’t think she had any intention of telling us.

“Hey Ariel?” I called.

“Yeah?” The lavender pegasi trotted over to me, flicking her brown mane over her shoulder.

“Do آپ still believe the earth ponies still exist?” I asked staring into her light gray eyes.

“Of course not, silly,” she laughed. “After the war, they all disappeared. Everyone knows that. آپ want some ice cream? My پسندیدہ peppermint, though some ponies prefer vanilla, یا chocolate, یا strawberry, thats one of my other favorites. I think آپ would like cotton candy یا maybe-”

“I think I’m good,” I interrupted her.“ Thanks for the offer though. I have to go find Lucky and Dare.”

“Ok then. Feel free to stop سے طرف کی anytime if آپ need anything,” she smiled at me then went over to help another customer. I left ten bits on the میز, جدول to pay for the other ponies meals. I walked out of the دکان and bumped right into Azura.

“Boy, some ponies’ in a hurry,” Azura said. “What’s got آپ all worked up?”

“Its nothing,” I tried to push past her, but she blocked my path.

“Doesn’t sound like nothing,” she looked me in the eye. Her blue eyes دکھانا signs of concern. “Why don’t آپ come over to my place. I have some new games I think آپ would like.”

“Maybe for just a little bit...” I let my voice trail off.

“Great! Follow me,” I followed her to a place not far from Los Pegasus. It was a nice house, cozy but a bit run down and painted a dark shade of green. Its rectangle shaped exterior gave it the appearance of a run down shack. I sign اگلے to the door read “Weapons for sale” Not surprising. All Pegasi want a gun of some sort. Its not good to leave the house without a weapon, especially with the Whorlings out and about. I always keep a switchblade handy, in case one decides to make me their lunch.

Really the only thing that can defeat the Whorlings’ are the elements of harmony, but ever since the mane six slit up, they have disappeared. Some say they are in the ghost town, Ponyville, where the mane six used to live before the Whorling’s took over. Others say they were destroyed سے طرف کی Princess Celestia before she died. The only thing right now that protects us is the unicorns magic and our control of the weather. It’s really the only reason that’s kept us from killing each other.

Before I can enter Azura’s house, Scootaloo came flying out of nowhere almost knocking Azura over. “HEY! Watch where you’re going!” screamed Azura.

“Sorry about that,” کہا Scootaloo. “I have مزید important things on my mind right now than apologising to Pegasi who sell weapons for a living.” Her مالٹا, نارنگی hooves clicked on the pavement as she made her way over to me. Her lavender eyes were filled with fear. “We need to talk-" she glanced over her shoulder. “In private. I need آپ to find Dare. I’ll take care of Lucky. Meet me at my house in 10.” Then she flew off towards Cloudsdale.

“What was that all about?” کہا Azura sounding annoyed.

“I have to go,” I explained the situation. Azura rolled her eyes. “Fine. آپ can stop سے طرف کی later if آپ want.”

“Ok thanks Azura,” I called, over my shoulder as I flew away.

“No problem. See ya later,” she کہا as she walked into her house. While she dealt with her weapons, I headed off to find Dare. Most of the time he likes to hang at the at the local park terrorizing the kids just to get a good laugh. so I decided to start off there. When I got there, most of the little pegasi were nowhere to be found. Only a few remained. Probably went to bed, I thought. It is starting to get dark. Since Dare wasn’t there the اگلے place I checked was his house. I pushed open the door and stepped in. Garbage covered the floor. and a pile of video games stood in the corner. I looked to the left and to my luck, he was on his سوفی, لٹانا eating a bag of kettle corn.

“Hey,” I said.

“I didn’t hear آپ come in,” He said. his voice sounded hurt and it looked like her had been crying.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

“Nothing. I’m fine. Just a little sad thats all,” he responded. Dare isn’t one to دکھائیں emotion. Especially in front of other people. “Why’d آپ stop by?”

“Scootaloo wants us to stop سے طرف کی her house,” I explained the situation to him. “We need to get there ASAP.”

“Lets get a اقدام on then. Don’t wanna keep that party waiting.” Dare jumped off the سوفی, لٹانا and flew out the door. All signs of emotion had disappeared, and was replaced سے طرف کی the daredevil I knew and loved.

Chapter 6:

“So where is Scootaloo’s house anyways?” he asked me as we flew above the گلابی tinted clouds. The sun had started to set and it would be dark soon.

“I think I might have an idea,” I said, then I headed towards downtown Los Pegasus. There was an apartment building near the river that I thought might be where pegasi, like Scootaloo, would hang out. It was a fairly new building with great big glass windows. There was nothing scary about it, but I knew that a lot of pegasi from the National Pegasi Army lived there.

I landed near the entrance, and didn’t realise I had stepped into a trap. A horrible black creature stepped from the shadows, its bug-like wings blocking out the sun. Whorling. I screamed, cowering against the apartments exterior. I was going to yell at Daredevil to help me when the Whorling stepped forward, its mouth slowly sliding open to reveal horribly long fangs. I reached for the چھری hidden on my rear leg. The Whorling pounced. I threw my چھری faster than lightning, the Whorling screeching as it cut through its throat between the black spikes. Neon green blood splattered all over my face. Dare walked over slowly, his back to me. I smelled something foul and was about to ask Dare if he had passed gas when he said, “Whatever آپ do, don’t move.” I suddenly realised what the shadow was from and came to the quick conclusion that we were surrounded. A high pitched gurgling sound came from behind me and green blood splashed my face.

Retching noises erupted from the Whorlings rotting mouths. مزید gurgling sounds escaped the Whorlings throats as one سے طرف کی one they fell mysteriously. سے طرف کی the time the last of them were killed, I was covered head to hoof in green blood. “You can get up now,” I heard Daredevil say, though it was kind of hard to hear because my ear was filled with the green goo.

“I didn’t know someone could take on that many Whorling’s that fast,” I said.

“He didn’t do it alone,” I turned around and came face to face with Scootaloo. She too was covered in the green goo. It dripped from her hair onto her shoe but she didn’t seem to notice. “Lets head up to my apartment. Lucky’s already there and we can take a shower, since I’m sure آپ don’t want to covered in blood any longer than آپ have to. Besides, It’s not محفوظ to talk out here with the Whorling’s out and about. Follow me.”

She lead us up three flights of stairs and into her apartment. The inside was filled with all of قوس قزح Dash’s trophies and تمغے from being a Wonderbolt. Sadly, the group broke up three years after قوس قزح Dash joined. She is still in contact with Spitfire, but I’m not so sure about the others. Most of them moved to a different country and I know that Soarin’ left for Baltimare. It broke poor قوس قزح Dash’s دل to see him leave. I guess she joined the army to forget all of her troubles.

“The showers over that way,” Scootaloo pointed down a hallway to her left, her othe hoof occupied with chopping لیٹش, کاہو کے پتّے for a salad. “Second door on the right. Shampoo is in the bottom shelf. The conditioner should be there, too.”

“Ok,” I replied as I walked towards the door. Taking a شاور as quickly as possible, my hooves combing the shampoo though my blonde mane and tail. I dried off, brushed my mane and slipped into a blue, lightweight jacket.

“Your turn,” I nudged Dare.
“Finally! I can’t wait to get all this blood off of me!” he cried as I pushed open the door. Throwing me out of the way, he grabbed for the handle and slammed the door behind him. I heard him turn on the شاور and pull back the curtain.

“Come sit,” کہا Scootaloo motioning to a chair اگلے to Lucky. “I thought آپ might be hungry so I made some salad. قوس قزح taught me. It was one of her پسندیدہ foods.” She looked down at the floor and I thought I saw her eyes glisten with tears.

“Are آپ ok?” I asked her, suddenly aware of Dare singing quite off-key in the shower.

“I’ll tell آپ in a minute,” she looked away. “Once Dare gets out of the shower. Is he singing?”

“Yeah,” I replied taking a bite of salad. Boy, was it good! It tasted sweet but not too sweet, ھٹی, ترش but not too sour. Kind of a mix in between. Only قوس قزح would know how to make a ترکاریاں, سلاد like that.

Dare’s شاور turned off and I heard him step out off the bathroom. Mane and tail still wet from the shower, he sat down اگلے to me.

“Its time to get down to business,” Scootaloo کہا sternly. She placed a piece of paper in front of us. The handwriting was sloppy, and all the dots above the eyes were مزید like slashes. It looked like it whoever wrote it was in a hurry.

Dear Scootaloo,
    By the time آپ read this I will be long gone. I have left for an important mission and I will not be back for a while. Please take care and know I love آپ very much. Don’t try to find me.
                            Love,
                                Rainbow Dash

“WHAT!?” screamed Dare. “Why didn’t she tell us!?!? We are her دوستوں for goodness sake! What kind of a friend writes a note, then just leaves without saying goodbye!!!” He stormed down the hall slamming one of the doors behind him, muttering curse words along the way. Dare and قوس قزح were best friends. They did almost everything together. Her leaving must of really hurt him. I mean, to know that your best friend might die and آپ didn’t get to say goodbye... yeesh.

“I’m sure she had a good reason,” I say, trying to make the best of the situation. “She wouldn't leave without saying goodbye unless it was something really important.”

“Thats what I was thinking,” کہا Scootaloo as she paced the floor. “But know that I think about it, there is something behind all of this. We’re missing something but I can’t quite put my hoof on it.”

“I figured it out,” whispered Lucky.

“Well then, spit it out!” yelled Scootaloo, whipping her head around. “I need to know where my sister went!” Lucky shrunk down lower in her chair.

“Stop it Scootaloo, you’re scaring her.” I placed my hooves on her shoulders. “The only way آپ can get information out of this girl here, is سے طرف کی kindness not سے طرف کی shouting.” Scootaloo took a step back. “Now Lucky, what is it آپ were going to say?”

“I was going to say I know why قوس قزح Dash left,” she stammered. “When was that last time آپ came home, Scootaloo?”
“Last week,” Scootaloo replied. “What does that have to do with anything?”

“That was the same time Fluttershy left. She came and told me she was leaving a week ago. She told me not to tell anybody and to leave her house boarded up. Then she left. I bet she’s with قوس قزح Dash.”

“Do آپ know where they would've gone?” I asked.

“No. She didn’t tell me anything else.” I knew she was telling the truth but I couldn't help but feel she was hiding something else.

Chapter 7:

An گھنٹہ later Dare came out of his room still red faced from screaming into his pillow. He plopped down on the سوفی, لٹانا اگلے to me. I was playing Azurocart 3 on Scootaloo’s game system while Lucky took a nap. Scootaloo had flown out to get some groceries.

“Can I join?” He looked fine, but his eyes told me he needed a distraction. I agreed. And besides, nothing is better than a game of Azurocart against Dare.

I was Iceking, a white pegasus whose power was being able to turn others into stone. Of course Dare chose Emberic, a horse the color of burning embers. His power; setting whatever he touches on fire.

“I’m gonna beat the crap out of you,” I کہا to him as we started the first race.

“I doubt that,” he replied, It sounds like an insult but he’s smiling so I know he’s just playing around. The race begins. I’m just about to get first place but then he cuts me off and wins the round. “See! I told you!” he says. “I told آپ I was gonna win!” Then we burst out laughing. Another thing I like about Daredevil is his sense of humor. He may not دکھائیں it very often, but when he does, it’s hard not to smile.

Scootaloo walks in and while I’m still laughing. My face is red but I don’t care. This is probably the most fun I’ve had in weeks! She looks at us funny then starts to put the food away. I notice not only food coming out of the bags, but weapons as well. I trot over and point at a spear. “What’s with all the weapons?”

“We have to go,” she says. “I have some spare saddle-bags in the spare bedroom. Use them. Fill them with everything آپ think is important. Food, especially food. Oh, and don’t forget spare clothes. آپ can find them in the bedroom as well. I keep a large stash of them for an occasion just like this one. And don’t worry about whether it looks nice یا not. We are most likely gonna get dirty anyways.”

“Can’t we just fly?” Daredevil remarks sounding annoyed. “We have wings, ya know.”

“It’s safer we just walk. Now go and pack your bags. Oh, and wake up Lucky too. I don’t wanna forget about her.” Daredevil stormed into the other room, but I still had a question. “Why are we leaving anyways?”

“Why we’re going, I’ll explain on the way.”

“But-”

“No buts. Now go pack your bag. Quickly. We need to hurry, so get your butt in there and pack,” Scootaloo’s eyes never lost their concentration on unpacking the bags but I could feel her staring at me as I trotted into the spare bedroom.

I took a canvas saddlebag and filled it with a flashlight, a first aid kit, extra batteries, some spare clothes, a book, some matches, paper and pencils, and a dream catcher I found on the bedside table. I had no idea what a dreamcatcher did, but I think it might have somthing to do with catching bad dreams in its intricate web and letting the good ones through.

“Hurry up and get your little behinds in here!” called Scootaloo from the kitchen. “Grab as much food as آپ can fit into your saddle bags. Maybe a weapon یا two as well. Who knows how long we're going to be gone. We might as well be prepared.” I grabbed some canned food along with some plastic plates and forks. Then I shoved t

Glancing at the weapons, I choose a sturdy looking bow and arrows, along with some knives and a shotgun. I shoved them in my bag along with a pack of oreos, my favorite.

“Go downstairs,” Scootaloo voice shouted from the bedroom. “Meet me in the lobby. I will be there in minute. Don’t talk to anypony! And be really careful!”

“Umm sure,” I state. “Come on آپ guys.” I flew out the door, Lucky and Dare at my hooves. It was strangely quiet in the hallway as we walked. Our hooves clicked against the tile floor on the way to the elevator.

The elevator slowly opened. I clicked on the button labeled lobby. As we descended, Lucky asked, “Why now? I mean why do we have to leave so suddenly without knowing?”

“Thats what I was wondering too Lucky,” I replied looking at the patterns on the floor. It was a nice pattern made of polished marble. It showed a Alicorn named Princess Celestia fighting in the war. I was wondering why it hadn’t been destroyed, when the door opened.

We sat down on the leather couches, seated near three big stain glass windows. The sight of them took my breath away. The sun shone through them, turning the coffee میز, جدول in front of us shades of blue, green, and yellow. آپ rarely see stained glass like this anymore. The city where glass was made, shut down a few years پہلے due to the war. Finding a piece of art like this was rare to come سے طرف کی so its best to enjoy it when آپ see it.

“What’s taking her so long,” complained Dare as he squirmed in his seat. “She کہا she would be down in a min-” Suddenly out of nowhere, three Whorlings burst through the windows. Glass rained over giving us cuts and scrapes. There was nothing to do but بتھ, مرغابی and cover. But before I could though, a whorling with leathery black skin, lunged at me and pinned me to the ground.

Muttering curse words, I screamed as searing pain came from my back. I had landed on a broken piece of tile and probably broke a couple ribs. Along with that, came the enjoyment of having my body crushed سے طرف کی a couple hundred pound Whorling. Oh what fun!

I would of shot it in the head, but my saddlebag was sitting on the سوفی, لٹانا only inches away from my body. Claws scraped down my face as it tilted my head looking for a good place to strike. It whipped my head around... Hard. A horrible kind of pain, spread throughout my brain. I was suddenly very drowsy and the world started spinning. The whorling just laughed. This was all a game to him.

It breathed on my face, filling my nostrils with the smell of rotten eggs and blood. Growling, its teeth showed. They were rotten and covered in a sticky red substance that looked very similar to ٹٹو flesh. Disgusting!

Rust colored blood, soaked into my جیکٹ turing it purple. The Whorling was just about to sink its fangs into my flesh when BANG! the sound of a gunshot came out and the Whorling fell into a heap, right on سب, سب سے اوپر of me. I pushed it off and tried to stand up but the world was spinning. Black spots danced in front of my eyes from the loss of blood from the cuts on my back. My ears rang with the sound of gunshots. I saw Scootaloo protect Lucky from an oncoming Whorling. Then, suddenly, someone was shaking me.

“Lucy! Lucy! Snap out of it! We need to get moving. Wheres your saddle bag?” The only thing I saw was red and black hair. Dare. I pointed over towards the couches where my saddle bag was packed. “Dare?” I asked almost silently. What was I doing? Why did my head hurt?

“Yes its me,” he called at me. “Lucy we need to get moving. Can آپ fly?”

“Huh?” I said. My head hurt but I couldn’t figure out why.

“Oh my gosh I think آپ have a concussion. Lucky! I need your help! Help me get here out of here! Go find Scootaloo and tell her we will meet her in the everfree forest near Zecora’s hut. Oh man... Lucy I need آپ to hang in there with me. OK?” His voice was distant and sounded fearful. The last thing I remembered before I blacked out was how pretty the stained glass windows where.

Chapter 8:

When I came to, I was sitting against a tree. A آگ کے, آگ was crackling and it was dark out. “Good. You’re awake. How do آپ feel?” It was Dare.

“I feel fine,” It hurt to talk. I tried to sit up but the back of my head was throbbing. I touched it and winced at the pain. “Where are we?”

“Not now. I’ll tell آپ later. آپ need some sleep,” he placed some medicine and a cup of water in my hoof. “Eat this with some water. It will help with the pain.” I took the medicine and ate it. Then gulped down half the glass of water. Almost instantly, the pain my my head and back went way. “Where did آپ get the medicine? The only ones I brought were the ones in the first aid kit. None of them work like the ones آپ gave me.”

“Well let me introduce آپ to someone,” he pointed towards the bushes. Out came a Zebra. Her face was aged but all the same she seemed like someone I would hang out with. Her eyes sparkled.

“Hello my Lucy,” she said. “My names Zecora. I make medicine, that one is called Primora.” Her lips parted into a smile. I tried to smile but it hurt so I stopped. “Where are we?” I asked Daredevil.

“The everfree forest,” he replied. “Try and get some sleep. آپ need your rest.” Using leaves and some he made a pillow. Then he placed it behind my head, careful to not touch my sore spot, and closed my eyelids. “Wait!” I called out then winced. It still hurt to talk.

“Yes?”

“Can آپ take out the dreamcatcher? It’s in my saddlebag.”

“Sure.” Taking it out of my saddlebag he placed it اگلے to my head its blue and مالٹا, نارنگی feathers glowed with the light of the fire. “Ok now get some sleep. And don’t die on me.” No need to tell me twice. As soon as he کہا that I feel into a deep sleep.
                        ~~~~~~~
The room was cold and dark. I inched my eyes open slowly, shivering from the sudden breeze. I raised my throbbing hoof. A simple bandage was swathed around the swollen hoof, and a burst of air left muzzle an I lowered my injury onto the floor. The door creaked open, and I cowered against the wall. Daredevil. It was just Daredevil. I allowed myself to relax and he lurched آگے and halted my descent with his strong forelegs. All I remembered was darkness and the sweet smell of roses.
I entered in and out of sleep the اگلے couple days. I would always wake up screaming, sweating like there was no tomorrow. Each time Daredevil was there to comfort me, his hooves stretched out to give me a hug. He smelled like roses with a hint of fresh baked bread.
What was really weird was that I could never remember what the dream I had was about. Whatever it was must of scared the crap out of me because I don’t get nightmares very often. I progressively got better, and it was on the fourth دن that I could sit up and talk again. It was also the دن I remembered my dream. It was a horrible, vivid memory that stuck in my brain, no matter how much I hated it.
Lightning bugs lit up the forest and I crashed through the branches. Adrenaline rushed through my veins. I was running from something but I couldn’t remember what. “You’re all mine, mare.” A raspy voice whispered from behind me. Oh yeah. I remember now. It was a Whorling. Except I didn’t know they could talk, though I never really thought about it till then.
Cobwebs and leaves scratched my face as I ran from him. Its fangs reflected the moonlight. Suddenly I couldn’t move. It came closer. I struggled to اقدام but it was hopeless. The Whorling pounced and pinned me to the ground. I tried to scream but no sound came. My muzzle was dripping with blood from my nose.
A terrifying scream came from the Whorling as he plunged his fangs into my chest and ripped out my heart. Pain like no other spread throughout my body. I groaned, and strangely I was still alive. No one can survive a Whorling attack like that one. Especially when he rips your دل out. When your دل gets ripped out you’re supposed to be dead, right? I guess not.
All of a sudden Daredevil came running through the forest. He started laughing at me and talking to the Whorling. Compassion was the first thing I felt but was almost immediately replaced with fear. He was holding a whip. It was covered in dried blood and rotten flesh. “What’s that for?” I asked. Even talking was painful.
“You’re smart enough. Figure it out,” He laughed. An evil laugh that only the cruelest of villains can make.
“Dare, p-put that d-down,” I stammered. I still couldn’t move. I felt like lead.
“Too late,” he smiled, cracked the whip, and prepared to strike. I awoke just as it was about to slap my cheek. No wonder I would wake up screaming.
Chapter 9:
“So. That’s what your dream was about,” I had just finished telling Dare. He looked upset. Theres another thing آپ need to know about Dare; he never loses his cool.
“Yeah...” I replied.
“You don’t actually think I would do that, do you?” He looked into my eyes.
“Never!” I cried. “I would never think of آپ like that!”
“Ok well I’m glad آپ know that,” a sigh of relief came from his muzzle. “I would never do that too you... not after what happened with قوس قزح Dash...”
Oh crap.
About a four years پہلے Dare found out that قوس قزح Dash was dating Soarin. He was so upset. I think he liked her, and just the thought of her dating another stallion made him upset. He stormed right over to قوس قزح Dash’s house. When he came ہوم his face was flushed red with anger. He told me they had been in a fight. After a couple weeks they apologized, but things between the two haven't been the same. They still hang out and stuff but not as much as they used too. Its a really touchy subject for him, and he can’t help but get angry یا upset when someone brings it up.
“Wait a second...” I let my voice trail off then came to a conclusion. “You- آپ like me?” Oh my gosh this is weird.
“Umm...” Oh my gosh, please say no please say no. Take it back, take it back!
“Ye-ye-yes?” His face turned ٹماٹر red. Its really hard for him to get across his feelings to other people. Especially about who he likes.
Suddenly the door to the hut opened. In walked Scootaloo and Lucky. “Just act like nothing happened.” I hissed in his ear. “But this conversation isn’t over.” I looked him in the eye then walked over to Scootaloo and Lucky, giving them the biggest برداشت, ریچھ hug ever. Oh how much I missed them.
We padded out into the morning light, our journey just starting. Dare and I were awkwardly quiet, and Scootaloo and Lucky chatted away to make up for the silence. We headed over a small ridge to the most ancient part of the Evergreen forest. Many of the trees here had withstood Whorling attacks that would’ve made a general of the National Pegasus Army cringe. It was the safest of any places in Equestria, no one would look for us here. We headed in the soft morning mist to a long, sturdy درخت with ash marks on it to take a short break, which Scootaloo and I delving into a deep discussion about politics.
“So what took آپ guys so long anyways,” I said, starting a آگ کے, آگ out of some driftwood while avoiding Dare’s gase.
“Umm it was nothing,” stated Scootaloo. “Stopped سے طرف کی to say hi to some دوستوں thats all.”
“Oh OK. Well why don’t آپ guys go find some berries یا somthin’,” I pointed off towards a small clearing not far from here. “I think I saw some strawberries over there.”
“Sure.” Scootaloo trotted off towards the clearing, Lucky at her hooves. As soon as they were out of range, I grabbed Dares ear dragging him to the side of the campsite.
“You owe me an explanation now spit it out!” I spat in his face.
“Well it just kinda happened,” he muttered, looking sheepishly at his hooves. “I didn’t mean to tell آپ the way I did...” pushed him back up against a large oak tree.
Looking to his eyes I said, “Did Scootaloo put آپ up to this?”
“No!” he yelled. “Why would she do that? It kinda happened when آپ got hurt and I realised how much آپ meant to me. I mean without آپ what would I do with myself? After قوس قزح Dash I didn’t have anyfriends untill I met you.” My face turned red. I had pushed him so close to the درخت that our muzzles were touching.
“Oooooh! آپ too make a perfect couple!” I jumped back startled سے طرف کی the voice from the shadows.
“Shhhh Pinkie!” “Oops! Sorry.”
“Whos there?” I called out, slowly pulling a dagger out from my saddle bag. “Where are you? Step out to where I can see you.” Out from the shadows came two earth ponies. One a had a گلابی mane and light گلابی coat. The other wore a really worn out country hat with some burn marks and had a yellowish mane with an burnt مالٹا, نارنگی coat. “Applejack? Pinkie Pie?”
“Yup,” کہا applejack کی, اپپلیجاک with her country accent.
“Arn’t آپ guys supposed to be extinct?”
“Yes, yes we are smarty-mic-smarterson!” Pinkie Pie shouted.
“Um just ignore her and I’ll explain on the way,” called Applejack.
“But what about Lucky and Scootaloo?” کہا Dare. “We have to go back and get them!”
“Theres no time for that. They will meet us there,” without anymore time for سوالات applejack کی, اپپلیجاک walked into the woods. “Come on Pinkie. We best be on our way.”
“Wait!” I cried out turning to Dare. I grabbing his hoof. “Maybe they have the جوابات we need.” He stared at me then quickly nodded his head and followed.
