It really annoys me how Hook is able to just be so easily forgiven for all he's done and yet Zelena gets a lot of hate. Yes, Zelena has done a lot of terrible things, but so has Hook. I mean, Hook actually murdered his own father just because his half-brother had the same name as his brother, Liam. He may have gotten his revenge on his father for what he did to him and his brother, but he's just as bad because he did the same thing to his half-brother. He left him to be alone without a parent and who knows what happened to him? He might have been left behind in the curse to be a servant to someone cruel to him. Plus how Hook wanted to make Emma pay for just trying to save his life. Plus how he said he should thank her for making him become the man he always wanted to be by making her suffer and have her watch everyone she loves die. What sense does that make? If he was happy being the Dark One, why does he want to make her pay? He's selfish, petty, stole a man's wife, made him think she was dead, was basically a cheap slut, tripped a crippled man for the fun of it, was always so annoying, and he's poorly written.

His sudden love for Emma and deciding to give up his revenge on Rumple to become good came out of no where. First he tells Greg and Tamara that he is willing to die to get his revenge and then the next scene he's in he says he's not willing to die for it. What the hell? Make up your mind! He may have flirted with Emma a few times in season 2, but he flirted with every woman. Hell, in a deleted scene he was actually trying to flirt with Ruby. Plus the whole time he was going on about Milah and trying to get his revenge, showing very little interest in Emma. Than all of sudden in season 3 he's in love with Emma and gives up what he'd been trying to do for YEARS just like that? He was evil willing to let Prince Eric die just so he could have his ship!

Zelena, again has done a lot of terrible things, but with the life she's had it's understandable. But she's also, in my opinion, more well-written than Hook is. She doesn't just become a good guy out of nowhere. She's still not a good guy, as of now. Plus she actually has an identity of her own, unlike Hook, who was either just someone wanting revenge on Rumple or just Emma's little boy toy. I don't understand how people can say Zelena has done bad things, isn't capable of love (especially since she's shown in the episode Our Decay that she loves her daughter), and should die ad yet defend Hook for doing things that are just as bad. It really annoys me what a double standard this is.

Honestly I've heard a lot of hate for Hook and a lot of defenses for Zelena. But everyone has different opinions.

Loling because they did the same thing with Gina and Gold at one point; Gina would get shit for things Gold got praised for.

Yeah, plus how in season 3 how Hook was given a toast and cheers for saving Charming (one good thing he did) as opposed to Regina that had done plenty of things to help them in season 2 (even though she hated them) and the characters still gave her crap (except for Emma and Henry before she was framed for killing Archie). Boy Regina and Zelena can't seem to catch a break. Like sister, like sister... boy that sounded weird, but you get the point lol.

I think I complained about that a while back lol. Like Regina sacrificed herself at the well and they are still skeptical of her, yet Hook does one (fairly minor) good thing and it's all "hoorah Hook!!!"
That whole family just can't get a break.
