Nate or Luke. But basketball was everything for Nathan. He didn't have anything else where he has good at. Lucas loves to write too.

I think they all loved it, but as naley_james said, basketball means everything to nathan. Lucas learned to live with the fact he couldn't play.

i think nate because it was all he had and it's the thing he's known for now. He continued to play basketball because he loved it so much!

I don't really think Nathan loved basketball until he was able to play it for himself (in seasons 2 and 3 and 4). I think basketball was always just a game he played for Dan, desperately trying to impress him, and he did it because Dan wanted him to. But Lucas, lucas played for the sole reason of the love for the game. He was the rivercourt raven... and his heart always belonged to the game. Nathan, although we know has a STRONG passion for the game, never really loved it until he was able to understand his appreciation, which didn't happen until he was almost a senior... which was halfway through the high school years. And Lucas NEVER let go of the game, even when he couldn't play anymore. Now, during adult years, I would probably pick Nathan but during High School... Lucas loved it more. Nathan, although I love him, even admitted that he was trying to "Beat his Dad". But later on he began to fall back in love with it, but Lucas ALWAYS looked as Basketball as a game he loved, not as a constant competition and battle he played for respect and a place in the world... because it was already his place. He wasn't searching for a place to belong, he ALWAYS belonged to the game whether his fellow team mates accepted him or not.

Lucas genuinely loves basketball and it really did hurt him that due to his heart condition he'd never really be able to play. Lucas loves the game for the game and nothing more, always has always will. Not that Nathan doesn't love it. He does now anyway. But Dan made Nathan play, made Nathan work hard, becausing being able to play wasn't enough, nathan had to play but not only did he have to play he had to be the best, this ended up making nathan feel like he had to play the game for one reason, and that was to beat dan not because he loved it.

In fact i think the first time i truly saw Nathan love basketball for the game itself was the state championship in episode 4.09. Since then I say nathan loves the game for the game because it's no longer about beating dan.

We know lucas just loved the game for the game because at first he couldn't understand why keith thought it was so important for him to play on the ravens because to Lucas he was playinig basketball and that was all that mattered...even Skills says that lucas has always belonged while playing basketball and refused to stand in his way of having more...love skills...i think everyone on this list loves basketball but not the same way lucas does.

except Nathan has always had the one thing Lucas has wanted more than anything....and that's a family...nathan will learn to live with the fact that he can't play the way he was meant to play, remember luke's had a lot more time to deal with not being able to play than nathan has :)
