How sweet it is to have James Taylor in town again
The Cork-born actress has just signed up to join the cast of gothic drama Penny Dreadful and will be back in Ireland this month to start filming the second season of the TV hit.
A Sky Atlantic and Showtime co-production, the first series was filmed entirely in Dublin over 19 weeks, and movie star Josh Hartnett (inset) was often spotted strolling about town when not in front of the cameras.
Series two will be bigger than the first, with bosses commissioning 10 episodes for the forthcoming season after averaging 4.8 million weekly viewers.
It is expected the crew will again take over a number of recognisable locations such as Temple Bar, Dublin Castle, the Guinness Brewery and Marlay Park.
It has yet to be confirmed what kind of character Sarah will play, but her addition marks one of several to the programme - a re-imagining of famous literary characters.
Douglas Hodge and Jonny Beauchamp have also been added to the cast in guest roles, while Harry Potter\'s Helen McCrory will become a regular.
Sarah has seen her career go from strength to strength.
She received a Tony nomination for her recent role in Martin McDonagh\'s The Cripple of Inishmaan opposite Daniel Radcliffe and appears in the September issue of glossy fashion bible Vogue.
With plenty of interest in her, she will next work on culinary comedy Adam Jones alongside Academy Award-nominated Bradley Cooper. It is due for release next year.
The brunette, who is currently dating The Hobbit\'s Aidan Turner, is in town this week for the Irish premiere of Noble, a biopic about the life of charity campaigner Christina Noble which was shot in Vietnam.
Sarah plays Noble in her early years, while Deirdre O\'Kane portrays the more mature philanthropist.
"It was a very harrowing experience and a huge responsibility to play someone who has achieved so much," Sarah said.
