The Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) photo competition is run

2016 is TPOTY’s 14th annual award. The competition will be launched in May with new category themes.

A new book - Journey Eight - will be published in late spring/early summer 2016, featuring all the latest winners from the 2015 competition. You can view these extraordinary images in the 2015 Winners Gallery, or see them large and close up at our new exhibition venue in London – at Greenwich University - or one of our touring exhibitions.

TPOTY is about more than prizes – it offers massive exposure for your work through our media activities, photographer profiles and exhibitions.

During the last five years our UK exhibition has welcomed over 200,000 visitors and in 2015 alone the exhibition welcomed 51,231 visitors over the six week run. Our touring exhibitions will see these audiences grow worldwide.

TPOTY winning photographers have had their work showcased around the world: established photographic careers have received a huge boost, new careers have been kick-started, and people who never thought they’d see their photographs in print have had a happy surprise!

The awards are judged by leading photographers and experts in the field, whose distinction and integrity add greatly to the prestige that comes with being one of our winners - or even being shortlisted. Ask one of our previous winners what this award has meant to them both personally and professionally.
