But just by a tiny, tiny bit. I find the overall beauty of the film, cinematography, casting, costuming and chemistry to be superior to the miniseries.

But I do love the miniseries! :D

I wasn't a fan of Bride and Prejudice though, especially the casting of 'Darcy.'

that was hard I love this one and the new one. But since this was the movie that got me into the series this was the one I chose. :D

i hate the 2005 version!!! the 1995 ver was much closer to the book and much more accurate to that era it was in. 1995 ver is the best by far, besides, lizzie and darcy are suppose to be attractive!! i saw no sign of that in any of the characters in the 2005 ver!!

I loved them both...and have them both on video...but the newer one...is more to my liking...i also love Colin Firth...oh well I love them all....hehehehe..lol

Seriously, I don't mean to offend anyone...but how can not people see that the 1995 version is so much better?

I watched the movie. I liked it, but I didn't feel so involved in it as I was in the book.
Then I managed to watch the 1995 bbc series...I begun by episode one at 2am in the morning, thinking I'd only watch the first episode (out of 6) and the next day I'd watch the rest of them.
Result: I watched the whole series in one night. I couldn't stop watching, even though I knew how it would develop and end. The character portraying is so much better (Jennifer did a great Lizzie, and so did Firth as Darcy) they were so entirely believable I thought I was right there with them watching the whole scene, back in the 18th century.
Every time an episode ended I didn't even hesitate...I cliked on the next one to watch eagerly. And I didn't got bored in any scene, unlike I did in the 2005 movie.
I didn't mind I only got to sleep at 8am, I COULDN'T go to sleep before watching the whole series.
Of course the series at the advantages of having more lenght than the movie, but still...if I could choose between watching the 2hour movie or the 6hours series in one night, I'd pick the series.
Now that I know this older version, everytime I find myself free time I'll totally re-watch it.
And I never felt like re-watching the movie twice.

I LOVE the 1995 version! All of the actors and actresses just portray the charactors so much better, and are so much more convincing. Besides, no one can measure up to Colin's Darcy, or Jennifer's Lizzie, at least in my opinion!

I love both version, but the BBC serie from 1995 is unsurpassed!!! I first saw the BBC version long years ago, when I was teen, and it was amazing! And it is amazing again and again.
Hollywood made their own version, which movie is nice and lovely, but the mood of the old version is so much better. And Jennifer Ehle and superhot Colin Firth is one of the best movie couples.

The BBC version was more to the book & i sometimes got annoyed at the lack of detail in the 2005 movie, but i am persuaded to prefer the 2005 version, because i love art & music, and the scenes in the movie were visually stunning and the piano music was gorgeous.

Oh, and i am also horried at 'Bride & Prejudice' being a valid option, that is just plain demeaning.

05 is overall better and more enjoyable to watch, BUT i like to watch 95 to get a more full version of the story with all the different characters. 05 has to stick to mostly the main ones, mostly just lizzy/darcy really,because there isn't time to go into detail about the rest. wickham's part is cut very short and they remove several characters as well, which makes it more streamlined.
if only i liked the 95 characters better. the story is good but the characters are mostly irritating to watch.
