My confession.
This is something that always annoyed me. I hate that we never got to see the characters react to her death; I for one would have loved to see Jimmy, Seth, Summer, Julie and Luke's reactions. I hate that it skipped past all this, it seemed cheap and lazy. I also hate that we never saw her funeral. I mean if we can see Caleb Nichols funeral surly we should have been able to see hers.

YES, YES, YES! Even flashbacks would've been fine, but skipping one of the core moments of the show like that is just writing laziness...so much potential wasted!

Maybe at least the first episode should have focused on the immediate aftermath. There was no need to dwell on it, especially with the shorter season, but I think they could have spared one episode to focus on this. Marissa was a major character and she had a lot of connections to the characters.
