Phantomess Actually this was recorded BEFORE Gerard was even in the running. Antonio was in the running for a long time for the part. However, when he figured out that the phans were by and large against him having the role, he bowed out. Same as John Travolta did before him. So what does ALW do when 2 of his choices drop out because they don't want to piss of phans with a prettyboy Erik that isn't such a fabulous singer? He casts Gerard Butler. Who also can't sing.
