So you’re finally finished writing it – the thing that has taken up all of your free time for the past two years (or more), the monkey on your back that wouldn’t let آپ sleep, that had آپ pulling out your pen and paper while on vacation with your family because The Idea came to you…
Well, you’re finished. آپ want to print it out, slap on a title, and send it off.
Hold up, there partner! Pause, breathe, put the the manuscript down. Easy! There آپ go….
What’s the big deal with a title?
Everything! It’s the first thing that a potential reader will see, the line that will either catch an editor’s attention یا send it straight to the trash can. Just as your name represents you, the عنوان of your book must be representative and catchy for your novel.
The good, the bad, and the ugly…
There are three distinct groups of titles.
The first is the good: the ones that catch attention, make a reader pick the book up, scan the front, turn it over and read the back, and then on to the checkout stand. Examples: Empress, Boiling Point, Crown of Thorns, Slaughterhouse-Five, A Feast for Crows.
The bad: have a hit and miss chance of grabbing a reader, with good enough cover art and some fantastic quotes from the New York Times یا Publisher’s Weekly, they may be read. They probably won’t be the first book a reader picks up, but it’s possible. Examples: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, War of the Gods, Secrets of Droon: The Hidden Stairs and the Magic Carpet, Maximum Ride: the Angel Experiment.
Then the ugly: get the response “how did this ever get onto this shelf?” “What was the editor/author thinking?” Examples: World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, The Adventures of شارک Boy and Lava Girl…
So how do آپ name it?
Unfortunately, while there is a plethora of baby-name کتابیں flooding the market and internet, there is no “novel-name book” for authors. So, آپ must be creative. Which really shouldn’t be that hard – hell, آپ wrote a book, didn’t you?
Coming up with the name of your novel should be a process started at the same time آپ write the firs paragraph, and honestly, will and should go on until you’re done with your final edit. It’s not an easy task – parents may argue and pine over it for nine months – why should your naming process be any different?
Following are several tips to help آپ come up witht the ideal name for your “baby.” These are merely brainstorming techniques to hopefully help something click in that creative cavity آپ have sitting between your shoulders:
Make a list
1. the names of your main characters
2. the major places in your book
3. any special talismans/objects that play a specific/important role (ie. The Sword of Shanara)
4. creatures, animals, aliens, names
Your plot
1. what is the point of your book?
2. is there a journey? To where? For why?
3. are آپ writing about a deeper meaning?
4. can آپ tie in your book with current events یا مقبول topics? (ie the Davinci Code)
5. what are your characters trying to do?
Google is your best friend
1. تلاش for pictures of a theme, character, creature, place, etc. that آپ feel represents your book. You’ll come across some cool (and weird) things, and may give آپ direction.
2. see what others writing about similar topics are using for titles. Make sure your عنوان isn’t too close to another’s.
3. get some مزید backstory on an item, relic, place, یا animal in your story. Again, think muse…
Have fun
1. play up on words and items in your book (ie One of our newest کتابیں due out اگلے summer is “Of Quills and Kings,” in which the villan is a demonic and sadistic hedgehog that overthrows the crown…)
2. be witty. آپ are trying to grab science fiction/fantasy/horror/etc fans, not collegiate professors that enjoy spending all of their waking hours with their pet rock. Uh…
3. be original. آپ want to stand out, but don’t be too off-beat that آپ scare people away.

Together, at last,
We sing in unison,
As the eagles zoom past us,
Symbolizing true freedom now.

We are together,
Not just our country,
But all the countries of the universe,
Syria, China, Germany,
Russia, Canada, Brazil,
And, of course, the United States.

I have never experienced
Such an amazing feeling
In my whole life,
As the soldiers of the universe
March past,
We are in utmost glory.

The unity of the universe,
We behold right now.
Never again, we shall quarrel,
Fighting with our steel rifles.

We will be free,
Not just blacks,
But all of us,
Together, at last.

We will be equal,
Women and men,
And we shall work together,...

We are going separate ways.
We must leave each other,
Though I regret it,
There is nothing either of us
Can do.

We are going separate ways.
The bright light shines in our futures,
For the separate ways we go
Are the best for each of us.

We must leave for the good of it,
Though I don't want to,
And I know آپ don't either.
But it is important that we do.

It is never easy
Doing what we do the worst,
Leaving each other,
And the thoughts that we are...
Best friends...leaving each other...

We must go our separate ways.
For our own good.
And we pray that one day...
We will meet each other again.
And we will.
Jake Gartner here. For some reason, something kept those mutant serpents away from us. Chase Johnson, my friend, is over here with me at the لائبریری of Death. Yeah. Bad name for a library, if آپ ask me. I would never have come here in the first place, had no one ever bothered me with a ransom note about my mother dying if I didn't go on this life-or-death journey. (Sorry, I have to speed the story up now. Chase says I'm getting all the attention.) So, what we found out at the library. Not much. All we found out was that mutant serpents tend to be very huge, have sharp teeth, and stay away...

I was lying in my hospital room doctors surrounding me observing him waiting for a change I knew was coming, but yet I still managed to be a depressive bugger who would somehow baffle the doctors to the extent of breaking down crying in frustration," now Craig I need آپ stop crying and relax so we can inspect your health with a few tests, okay how does that sound?," I slowly look up and try to stop the tears but the shadowy figures stand there shouting at me making me so angry, that I lash out at the nearest doctor knocking off his glasses and then punching him in the groin making him cry...

Chapter One
A محفوظ Place to Hide
Down in the town, humans lived their comfortable lives, untouched سے طرف کی most of the world. Tonight, the weather is particularly bad. A blizzard moved into the area. It isn't fit weather for man یا beast. Yet, fighting her way through the swirling snow is something that is neither one nor the other.
Nemesis, a healthy dragon of five centuries, fought to keep her course in the storm. She may have gotten a bit بولڈ, ہٹیلا in her later years, but that won't keep her from her travels. The winds changed direction every few seconds....

“No, no, no, no,” Terry assures. “Nothing bad is going to happen, Brook, یا it already would have, don’t freak out.”
“I can’t help not freaking out, I mean, I think everything is going to mess up because of the everything is fine. It’s not fine!” I say.
Terry tilted her head at me. “Hey, it’s going to be okay, and if it’s not, we’ll get through it.”
    I nod, “together.”

Chapter 9: I Play Bad Cop And آپ Play Good Cop

Faye Martinez and Jason Rivers sat in Mr. Rivers' office in his house. They had readied everything for the interviews they were having that evening. They planned on interviewing anyone and everyone who saw Simone the دن she vanished. This would take possibly all day. Faye had to literally drag Mr. Rivers from his luxury بستر and to his office. He was sitting in the dark, staring out the window, while on the floor. It was ridiculous. Simone always complained about how her father never truly loved her. It is obvious now how much he truly...

“So we will not speak of یا mention the unspeakable event that took place last night,” Darren told us, looking like a stern teacher reprimanding his class.
“For the hundredth time yes!” Edith shrieked.
The sad part was that she wasn’t exaggerating.
We were all on edge, super tension ran from the air, we had left the park with a dispirited mood. Not because of the stupid stone. Iris was supposed to call us when she got home, but the call never came so we called...

Chapter Nine: Escape Artist Can Escape But A Group Of Students Can't Even Escape From Their School

Everyone was ready for the escape plan the اگلے night. If it was up to me we would have had everything ready within an گھنٹہ but tracking teacher schedules was harder then it looked. We were all set and ready to take off that night. I had learned that the school kept two emergency vans in the back. I nabbed the keys from the office when no one was around. I wonder how long it will take them to notice that a set of keys are missing. It was about midnight when our team assembled. Everyone...

Chapter Six: Two Goons, One Girl, One Man, and One Secret Room

The door immediately slammed shut behind me. The one thing I never do is panic. It was the perfect time to panic but I had to keep my composure. I wondered if Darrell was able to escape. He couldn't possibly wait for me. He has the opportunity to escape and save himself. I took one step آگے and tumbled down the stairs. It was so dark that I didn't even notice them. I had quick reflexives so I was able to stop myself before I crashed یا made a sound to ward off the intruder. A light switch was to my left so I flicked...

No matter the coaxing, Stilere stayed stubborn, she wasn’t being left behind. آپ see, it’s like really early in the morning, how early? Like friggin three a.m., that’s how! I am tired, and I certainly don’t want any spook in my life now.
“I’m coming!” Stilere yelled defiantly, smirking when she saw Alex’s shoulder’s deflate. She’s won the battle.
“Fine,” Alex said. “But be careful, oh and your on watchful tower.”

Chapter Eighteen
Book Six- Zoe

How did the battle end? Well, Shane kicked some serious butt. I wasn't so bad myself. The guards may have been ghost but they were pretty easy to kill. All آپ had to do was kill hem like آپ would kill a human. It was that simple. It was what made the battle even مزید serious then it already was. My sister. She killed herself. That is what it looked like. The odd thing was that The One was nowhere to be found. I searched everywhere in the قلعہ but I couldn't find him. I soon gave up. He wasn't important. My sister was. The dream of my sister's grave...

Chapter 38
        The river that drowned tears
I ignored the freaked out yells and warning’s as I went past the speed and nearly demolished the car, we couldn’t take our time, we had to be fast. We finally reached the river, which was very close to the river, and I turned off the engine and jumped out of the car running to the lake.
I plunged deep into the water and I swam through it to find the victim, who I found though made me gasp. Jessica was tied to...

He was the best father I could ask for. He was kind and always did what was best for the family. And that is why it broke my دل to find out that he wasn’t coming back.     Now, I don’t hate school, no, not at all. But the thought of going to it for a place of safety, especially with no one but creepy janitors in there, yeah, I’m not liking it.
“How are we going to get in?” Brooklyn asked, eyeing the doors that, in morning look friendly and welcoming, but at night look dangerous and ready to gobble up innocent kids.

I hadn’t been really surprised when we broke apart after that weirdness, being with them brought back all those memories. But I’ve been beginning to feel a bit lonely, all of us really bonded that day, and it feels like were sharing a secret. The bad part is that we don’t even know the secret either.

Ya tell me,
Don't dance, don't dance,
Just stay inside and never go out
And scold me
All دن long, all دن long

What makes آپ think you're so damn awesome?
Don't ya know we have a life too, too?
We'd be sittin in watching TV
And I don't think آپ want that either

So what the heck can we do?
We're not just mindless robots with nothing else to do
We don't have time for homework
We just wanna have fun, fun, fun

We have a life, no time for homework
We can go ahead and play flag football
But I'm not goin inside

Why do آپ act like
There's nothin else better than
Doin homework all night long
I bet آپ never liked that when آپ were young

We've been playin outside
Now it's time to kick in and relax
No مزید time for homework, just sit back and do the things I love to do
Cuz I gotta enjoy my life when I'm young.

Crime: Dectetive Story

Chapter 6: Two Missing People Makes A Certain Someone Happy

Simone Rivers wore her blue strapless dress which made her look taller. She was already tall but she needed that extra height. She had her long blonde hair curled and wore the black wedges she recently bought. The whole outfits was around a seven hundred dollars but she wouldn't mention that to her cheap dad. She looked dazzling یا at least that is what all the boys thought when they whistled when she walked by. She took pleasure on having their attention. Nothing could stop her now. She felt powerful...
