End of Chapter 14

Bella took a deep breath and looked down at her hands as she nodded.

"How long has this been going on?" I asked.

"Not long." She کہا defensively. "He's only been a werewolf for a few weeks."

A werewolf for a few weeks? Oh my gosh what was she thinking?? I sat on the سوفی, لٹانا staring at her, unable to make a sentence.

"A YOUNG werewolf? Even worse!! Edward was right...you are a magnet for danger. Weren't آپ suppose to stay out of trouble?" I challenged her.

She sat on the سوفی, لٹانا trying to figure out how to answer this. She opened her mouth a few times before she attempted to answer. "There's nothing wrong with werewolves."

"Until they lose their tempers." I کہا angrily. "Leave it to you, Bella. Anyone else would have been better off when the vampire left town. But you....you have to start hanging out with the first monsters آپ find."

Chapter 15

"No Alice, the vampire didn't leave...not all of them anyway. That's the whole trouble. If it weren't for the werewolves, Victoria would have gotten me سے طرف کی now. Well, if it weren't for Jake and his friends, Laurent would have gotten me before she could, I guess so..." Bella explained.

"Victoria? I hissed between my teeth. Laurent!?"

It was just...well I guess it was a few months پہلے that we were playing a harmless game of baseball when Victoria, Laurent and Victoria's love James walked in and turned our world upside down. We managed to stop James before he could kill Bella, but Victoria had gotten away. We never thought that she would come back. Why would she come back for Bella? Why wouldn't I have seen that? What was this about Laurent? I felt my control slip a little and a look of shock flashed across my face.

Bella nodded as she pointed to herself. "Danger magnet, remember?"

I shook my head again trying to figure out how everything went so wrong. How could Edward ever think that leaving her would help?

"Tell me everything, start at the beginning." I demanded.

When Bella started talking I knew that she was leaving pieces out, the way that she bit her lip before beginning. It was almost as if she were deciding what to tell me.

She told me about how she had been spending most of her time in La Push, the reservation just south of Forks. That she started hanging out with Jacob Black, who was a family friend. How they had spent every waking moment together, rebuilding his old Volkswagen. I cocked my head to the side, the idea of Bella helping anyone with a car was not believable.

"Do آپ want to know یا not?" She کہا as she responded to my look.

"Yes, go ahead." I کہا quickly.

She went on about how her Jacob and Mike Newton had gone to a movie, and just as it started Mike got sick so they had to leave. Bella کہا that she ended up getting the flu as well and it seemed like Jacob did too, یا she was told that he might have mono. Regardless she wasn't allowed to go down to La Push. She کہا that she was once again alone, left to think too much and how she decided to keep trying Jacob to distract herself.

I guess this went on for a while and one دن after her and Jacob had words he jumped in her window and tried to tell her the truth. She کہا it was like he was choking on the words, he was told he couldn't say it out loud to anyone..it was kind of an order. She کہا he told her she needed to guess it and eventually she did.

How she went to La Push and Jacob thought she should meet the rest of the pack. When she کہا that she turned white as a ghost, and bit her lip so hard I had to push her slightly so that she wouldn't bite through it.

She skipped the rest of that story, and کہا that the rest of the pack were very nice. She کہا tried to describe everyone to me, and I pretended I was interested in the whole thing. She took a deep breath before she continued.

"Jake was sleeping and I got tired of waiting for him, I looked for something to do and remembered the cliff diving. I decided I was just going to go, I wasn't sure it would be that hard so I thought I could do it alone." She کہا quickly.

"I jumped off the cliff, the free fall was amazing. It felt like I was flying." Bella کہا as she smiled.

"Wow Bella." I کہا as I took in everything she told me.

"The weird part...ok there are lots of them but the weird part with being in the water was I swear I saw آگ کے, آگ floating on the water, I wasn't sure what it was but I'm beginning to think the color is the same as Victoria's hair." She finished.

"Our leaving didn't do آپ any good at all, did it?" I asked quietly.

Bella laughed, the sound foreign. "That was never the point, though was it? It's not like آپ left for my benefit."

I glared at her, how could she think that? She was the entire reason that the whole family left, the reason that... I had to cut my thought off, I was getting upset again.

"Well....I guess I acted impulsively today. I probably shouldn't have intruded." I کہا as I noticed that her head dropped and the blood drained out of her face when I کہا this.

"Don't go, Alice." She whispered as her fingers locked on to the کالر of my shirt. "Please don't leave me." She کہا as she began to hyperventilate.

"All right." I کہا slowly as I enunciated each word slowly. "I'm not going anywhere tonight. Take a deep breath." I instructed.

I watched her closely as she tried to gain control of herself. I noticed that her eyes were مزید sunken, she obviously hadn't slept in a while. That her whole being was different, she seemed like a broken person, someone who hadn't seen anything good یا happy in quite some time. That broke my دل مزید then anything, knowing that I had something to do with the reason that who Bella was at this point is my fault.

"You look like hell, Bella."

"I drowned today." She reminded me as she tried to smile.

"It goes deeper then that. You're a mess." I stated rather matter of fact.

"Look, I'm doing my best." She کہا as she flinched a little.

"What do آپ mean?" I wondered.

"It hasn't been easy. I'm working on it." She کہا as she started to get angry.

"I told him." I کہا quietly to myself.

"Alice, what did آپ think آپ were going to find? I mean, besides me dead? Did آپ expect to find me skipping around whistling دکھائیں tunes? آپ know me better then that." She کہا defensively.

"I do, but I can hope." I said.

"Then I guess I don't have the corner on the idiocy market." Bella کہا as she smirked.

Just then the phone rang and Bella jumped and ran to the phone, excited to see who it would be on the other end.
