I quit my job in L.A and moved back to Forks with Seth and Tala. We've been here for a couple of months, it was almost spring.
I'm sitting in my room now, just sobbing. I didn't know why I started crying. I was making the بستر and the tears came. Seth was at work and Tala was with her Grandma Sue for the day. The phone rang and rang. The answer machine came on.
"Hey, I was wondering if آپ were still at home. You're not answering your cell so call me when آپ get this." It was Seth. I walked over to the phone and called his job.
"Jake's Garage. This is Jake speaking." He said.
"Hey Jake. It's Lanise, Is Seth around?" I asked him.
"Yea, Hold on." He said. I heard him yell Seth's name."Are آپ okay?"He asked, his voice full of worry."Here's Seth."He کہا before I could get anything out.
"Hey Sweetie."Seth کہا all lovey-dovey.I sniffled a little.
"Hey."I کہا in a whisper,you could tell I was crying"Seth,I think there's something wrong with me." I کہا and started to cry again. I barely heard him say he was on his way home.
When he got here,I was sitting on the edge of our bed,just staring into space. I felt his hand on mine and he took us to the car.It was silent on the drive there. We got to the hospital and Carlisle, Nessie's Grandfather was waiting for us. He took us to an examination room and I sat down on the hospital bed.
"Lanise,I'm going to draw some blood from you, so I can see what's wrong یا not wrong with you."He said. I shook my head okay, and he wiped my forearm with an acholol pad and stuck a needle in,I winced a little.When he was done, he left the room.I sat there and looked at Seth,who was talking on the phone in hushed tones and kept looking back at me and smiling a fake smile.
Carlisle came back about fifteen منٹ later,Seth had just gotten off the phone.
"Well,Lanise, your healthy as a horse.The only thing I found was that آپ are pregnant." He said.I looked at him and then at Seth.
"I'm prenant" I said,A little smile on my lips. Carlisle left and came back in with a sonogram machine and I lifted up my shirt. The machine whirred to life and آپ could see an outline of a baby on the screen. I looked at Seth who was smiling, like the first time he seen Tala on the machine.
"From the looks of it, آپ are about two months pregnant." He کہا to Seth and I smiling. He looked at Seth, and Seth nodded at him. Carlisle left the room. I wiped the gel of my stomach and pulled down my shirt. Seth looked me in the eyes and smiled, but not a loving smile, it was مزید of a how-to-say-this smile.
"We have to move."Seth کہا to me.I looked at him like he was crazy.
"What do آپ mean we have to move?"I asked him.
"Well,Nessie and her family are moving and I have to go because Jake's going with them."He کہا to me.
"Seth آپ can go,I'm not moving.You don't have to drag me along.I'm not your wife."I کہا to him,as soon as I کہا the last words I saw hurt across his face.
"What about Tala?What about are unborn child?" He asked me with pleading eyes. I sighed.
"We can do a schedule of who gets her and when."I said. I got up and off the بستر and walked towards the door.
"Now, Can آپ take me home.I have to tell our daughter your going away for awhile." He walked out in front of me,trembling. I felt the tears coming on, but I blinked them back.
