Now, what's this business about sparkley vampires?
Now, what's this business about sparkley vampires?
This may be a little opinionated, since I am an avid Buffy پرستار and Anti-Twilight, but here goes:

1. First and foremost, the vampires. In myths and legends, vampires are, in one word, evil. They are bloodsucking creatures of the night with an aversion to sunlight and a fear of things holy. They can be killed سے طرف کی decapitation, fire, and a stake to the heart.

Buffyverse vampires embrace these myths, taking on a human appearence and shifting into "game-face" (yellow eyes, bumps, and fangs) at will. Sure, some vampires may have quirks and essentially good personalities, but they all have the same features nontheless.

Twilight vampires, however, are very different from their image in folklore. Some of the most significant differences are:

- no reaction to crosses, garlic, etc.
- can walk around in daylight and sparkles in the sun
- has diamond skin, apparently
- can only be killed سے طرف کی their own kind and werewolves (or shapeshifters یا whatever the hell they were).

Yes, sparkling vampires are original, but it ruins the image of traditional vampires. Aversion to sunlight is practically a symbol of vampires. And like Joss Whedon said, is there an Edward Cullenus? I think not.

2. The plotline. In Buffy they faced a villian, یا "Big Bad" every season, with a hell of a lot of subplots that keeping پرستار interested. In Twilight, it all boiled down to: "OMG I love yous, Edward!" Buffy plots win handsdown.

3. The characters. In Buffy, the characters are 3D. They change their qualities throughout the show. A lot of evil characters want to redeem themselves. In the Twilight Saga, either the characters aren't fully developed/described یا they don't change at all. Look at Bella, who is a boring self-insert Mary-Sue. She remained the same throughout the series.

4. The themes. The TV دکھائیں Buffy has a darker and dramatic edge to it, but still manages to be humourous in some instances. Twilight, however, has been described as a horror/thriller/romance. However, it is not a scary book. It does not scare, horrify, excite یا thrill me. I guess it is a little romantic in a way, though.

5. Feminism. Buffy the Vampire Slayer has shown to be an uber-feminist show, which includes:

-The Slayer, a figure in mythology, described as a female chosen to rid the world of evil.

-Willow and Tara, two powerful Wiccans (and not many powerful "man-witches")

-Hints during the دکھائیں that all men are bastards (What? 'S true.)

However, Twilight is different:

-In the whole of the series, Bella always depends on and hides behind her man, Edward.

-In New Moon, when Edward left, Bella remained in a comatose state for months instead of, I don't know, moving on?

-Due to being a werewolf, Leah cannot reproduce.

-Alice's visions are subjective, while Edward's mind-reading and Jasper's emotion-checking are always working.

All in all, Buffy the Vampire Slayer PWNS Twilight. Whedon was مزید creative and put مزید thought in his creation than Meyer.

... Then Buffy staked Edward. The end.
