It was called The X-Men Apocalypse trailer: 5 big سوالات | moviepilot.com
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
If there\'s one thing in pop culture in 2015 bigger than Kim Kardashian\'s ass, it\'s the superhero movie. Ever since The Avengers lined up for Marvel, the public\'s appetite for men (and occasionally women, when they\'re allowed to have a day off from being sex symbols) saving the world has been unstoppable.
In 2016, more superhero movies will drop than ever before. We\'ve got the sarcastic, R-rated
Deadpool. DC pit Batman vs Superman and send in Amanda Waller to create the Suicide Squad from society\'s dregs. Doctor Strange brings a touch of magic to Marvel\'s roster, Civil War makes a villain of Captain America, and even Gambit gets his own movie. (No, I don\'t know why either.)
But among all this madness, one movie stands out as the real dark horse contender for superhero flick of the year. Step forward, X-Men: Apocalypse.
If you saw First Class and Days of Future Past, you\'ll know that the X-men series has been stealthily reinventing itself, presided over by the younger incarnations of Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and Xavier (James McAvoy). Future Past in particular nodded to the past whilst setting up building blocks for the future (clue\'s in the title), but Apocalypse is where it all comes together. This is the big one, and that\'s why it\'s my most anticipated movie of 2016.
That said, there\'s still a hell of a lot we don\'t know, so without further ado, here are the five BIG questions we\'ll be looking for the trailer to answer when it drops with Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens in December.
Gambit has appeared before in an X-Men film - the infamous X-Men Origins: Wolverine - but don\'t expect any references to that. In the hands of Channing Tatum, the Ragin\' Cajun could be an interesting character - his powers (the manipulation of kinetic energy), skills (card-throwing, combat) and unique style make him a strong choice for a spin-off movie.
The problem is, it comes out in a year and most people outside of X-men comic circles don\'t have a clue who he is, which is why Apocalypse needs to drop a few hints or lay a few easter eggs to start building hype. Obviously, a cameo or post-credits scene would be the best way to do this, but some kind of visual reference in the trailer would be a smart move.
First Class is my favourite X-men movie, and Rose Byrne did an awesome job with the stylish and determined Moira MacTaggert, the open-minded government agent who went deep into the world of the mutants - and then had her memory erased by Xavier before her return to the bureau.
Apocalypse, but why? If the plot just needed an FBI agent, a new character could have been introduced, but bringing back Moira suggests her history with Charles will come into play somehow. Will her memory return, or will the Professor use his prior knowledge of Moira to manipulate her? I\'m super stoked to find out.
We know Quicksilver (Evan Peters) will be crucial to Mystique\'s crusade to link up with the new gen of mutants and save the world from Apocalypse, but the big emotional crux of this movie is most likely going to be his efforts to strike up a proper father-son bond with Magneto. If there\'s not a big "I AM YOUR FATHER, LUKE" moment in the trailer, I\'ll be amazed.
Bonus question: Will the trailer show us anything from the new slo-mo scene recently teased by Peters? Relive the epicness above.
One of Apocalypse\'s key weapons is his mini entourage, the Four Horsemen, a group of mutants under his command: Psylocke, Storm, Archangel and the MVP himself, Magneto. Are they handpicked by Apocalypse for their mutations, or are they just in the wrong place at the wrong time? Are they manipulated into joining him via mind control or persuaded that it\'s the right thing to do for the future of mutantkind? Expect the trailer to address this one for sure.
Perhaps the most important question of all: what is Apocalypse\'s end game? What is it about Earth in 1982 that rubs him the wrong way? How long has he been dormant for - decades, centuries? - and why? And will we be treated to an epic flashback, an origin sequence of sorts, to get a better understanding of how he came to be the most powerful mutant in history?
X-men movie, and for the first time the series has the opportunity to eclipse the movies of Marvel, so it\'s important that the trailer answers some of these questions and sets the scene for something truly earth-shattering.
X-Men: Apocalypse? Got a burning question you\'re dying for the trailer to answer? Will it eclipse the likes of Civil War and Batman vs Superman? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
Which superhero epic are you most stoked for?
