Anton Devette smiled at his daughter.
“Becca. What a remarkable young lady you've become.”
His daughter glared at him with hate and malice.
“And I'm amazed at how well you've tracked me down.”
“Just because I'm autistic doesn't mean anything,” Becca spat. “I'm smarter than آپ think. But آپ wouldn't know. آپ cherished my sisters better. Just because I was the runt.”
“And آپ outlived everyone. But me of course.”
“Only because آپ decided murder was best for the family. Until mom gave me and Serepta up. Then آپ killed her and hunted us. But آپ were also the devil that haunted Serepta's mind. Except now that she's gone I'm the only one left. It was bad that آپ killed my blood family. آپ also killed my adoptive family. And now آپ want to kill the only family I have left.”
“Ironic how I started with your first and decided to use your last.”
“Not ironic. Just twisted.”
“My. آپ have become a hater.”
“And آپ were born one.”
“Touche. But enough chat. I didn't come to battle my little girl. I cam to kill her.”
“Try it. But I've become quite the skilled fighter.”
“Your superhero دوستوں teach آپ how?”
Becca stared him down, daring him to make the first move. He came at her, whipping out a sword. Becca pulled out her collapsible sword, steel meeting steel. Her eyes narrowed and she smirked as she pushed him back against a pillar of crates. Anton hit the boxes, balancing himself. He looked at the boxes, using his dark magic to steady them. Becca smirked, her gaze challenging. Anton came at her again. But this time he cheated with dark magic. Every cursed spell he spoke caused Becca to loose her strength. Caused her to earn one مزید scratch, one مزید scar.
His last spell caused her to hit the wall. She moved away quickly as he dug his sword into the brick. Anton came at her again. Becca fell to one knee, trying to keep the blade from her neck. She pushed the hilt of her sword harder and looked around. Her team was out, taken down سے طرف کی their own weaknesses. Luckily, she only had two. But she wasn't going to give up unless there was no other option. Her muscles began to cry out but her perseverance and endurance were stronger.
“Give up young hero.”
“N-never!”
“Why do آپ still fight? The rest of your team has fallen.”
“Yeah...w-well I'm...not...them!”
Becca pulled back, rolling out of the way of the sharp tip aimed for her neck. She stood on trembling legs but held her sword.
“You دکھائیں great potential. It's a shame to waste such talents. We could've been great allies.”
“Take your tune somewhere else, piper. This warrior can't be swayed.”
“Pity.”
Becca held her sword up again, awaiting the attack. When the sound of metal rang out, Becca shot off the gun she'd grabbed from the floor. Bullets ricocheted off of everything. Several damaged the metal box at the far end of the room. It shut off with an electrical hiss and an invisible barrier fell away. The دیوار that had held the metal box turned out to be a huge glass door. Behind it was Young Justice. Becca heaved a sigh of relief. But she kept a bloodied hand to her side; one of the bullets had struck her but a smirk was on her face.
“Ugh! Another دن Shade!”
Anton vanished before her eyes and she dropped her sword. She replaced both her weapons before leaning down to Devin, moving a vial of smelling salts beneath her nose. Devin jolted up and looked around.
“What happened?”
“Nothing a few bullets can't handle. Here; wake the others and Young Justice while I tend to something.”
Devin nodded and took the vial. She moved to Erin and turned back to ask if Becca had more, but the girl was gone. But another vial of smelling salts sat on the floor. She shrugged, taking the other vial, and awoke Erin.
“Ow! Why does my head feel as if I ran into a wall?”
“You did, remember?”
“Oh. Yeah. Where's Becca?”
“Tending to something. Help me wake the others.”
“Sure.”
Between the speedster and Devin, the two awoke the others before heading to wake up the Young Justice team.
“Here,” Court said.
She pulled out three vials of smelling salt and handed one to Jade and one to Sylver.
“C'mon. Let's get them out of here.”
They removed the various devices holding the young heroes down before using the sweet fragrances on them. Each awoke to cries of relief, introductions, and plenty of hugs.
