When I woke, there were metal cuffs around my hand. I looked around to find myself in a dark room that looked extremely similar to a briefing room. I sighed and rested my feet on the میز, جدول in front of me. There was a large shout from outside the window, and a crash as Robin tried to get into the room. Then I barely made out Batman saying,
"She almost killed the team."
"It wasn't her fault! She's being forced to!"
"No. Absolutely no."
"C'mon!"
"Dude, give it up." K.F. cut in, and the door began to open. I realized that I was still dressed in civie clothing. سے طرف کی the time Batman entered the room I was in my costume, mask and all. He seemed unfazed سے طرف کی the sudden difference in looks.
"What are آپ doing here?"
I stared at him. If he honestly thought I was going to answer, he was wrong. There was no way I was ever going to talk to him.
"I said-"
"She knows what آپ کہا Batman, she isn't gonna talk!" A voice crackled onto the speakers, and I smirked.
"Robin, I told آپ to stay away from the mic."
"Who the hell says I'm anywhere near the mic?" A familiar laugh echoed through the room, somewhat of a cackle. God, I hadn't heard that laugh in four years. I focused back onto Batman, who was looking at me. He turned toward the one way glass and asked, "Well, if she won't talk to me, who will she talk to?"
Now it was my turn to talk. "I'll talk to my brother."
I felt everyone turned and stare. I could literally feel all eyes on me, and though I couldn't see them I grinned mischievously, which should have دیا it away. And it did. "Robin?" I heard Aqualad ask. Batman opened the door and Dick, once again dressed in his costume. As soon as the door closed, I went from a mischievous grin to a real one. "Hi D-Robin."
"Hey, kiddo."
"So, what do they want?"
"They want what I want, everything. They want answers. Any kind of answers. All kinds. It's not very whelming, when آپ think about it." I laughed, a مزید girly version of his cackle.
"You use that word WAY to much."
"Want me to stop?"
"No, god no! It's hilarious! It reminds me of when we were little!"
A small moment of silence occurred, and we began to bust up laughing. "Seriously, though, why don't آپ get a bit مزید comfortable?"
I looked at him, not really puzzled but acting as so. "Oh, come on," he said. "We both know those cuffs came off as soon as آپ woke up." I shook my head, defeated, and there was a clang of metal as the cuffs hit the floor. I stood and stretched. "So. Are آپ planning on actually telling them?"
I sighed. "I suppose. Maybe they'll be مزید tolerant of me and actually let me sleep on a building in peace اگلے time." I giggled and sat. "Well, here goes nothing..."

Sneak Peek Part II
Revenge یا Redemption
"This Way!" Revenge yelled.
I followed, ducking into a closet. My yellow/black cape swished behind me and exposed where we were.
"Tam! Ogan'!" a voice yelled.
The Russians brought their guns to برداشت, ریچھ on the wooden door and fired. Revenge leaped in front of me, taking the shock and damage of the bullets. But fifteen AK-47s firing into his chest managed to knock him out.
The Russians busted open the door and knocked me down with a رائفل to the head. One pointed his gun at me.
"Ostan'sya vnizu malen'kaya devochka!" he yelled.
I struggled to think, the blow to my head had me in a daze.
"C'mon Barbara! Think! You're in Russia! Batman taught آپ this much."
After a bit of thinking, I managed to translate it into 'Stay down little girl'.
The اگلے time they کہا something, it was easier to translate.
"Voz'mite ikh s losifom!"
Translation: Take them to Joseph.

Epilouge:
Slade moved into the room. He bowed before the dark shadow. The voice spoke to him.
“You failed me Slade.”
“I know master. But she is stronger than we first expected.”
“Yes. I know. I expected as much from her. But we now have her in a dangerous position.”
“Master?”
“Shade must make her choice. She has followed the Light for seventy years. Now, she must choose whether she is willing to risk everything یا to continue to play hero.”
“And if she chooses hero?”
“She won't.”
“But Master-”
“Shade thinks she is in the clear. But I have one last trick up my sleeve.”
