I'm torn between PatF, Cinderella, and Mulan. But Cinderella has Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo, which always impresses me, and Mulan has the scenes with the huns, so I like it. PatF isn't inventive or fresh it's basic Disney animation. It does use green and yellow in interesting ways, and the transformation scene is nice (but we've already seen a similar one in Swan Princess). So it just doesn't impress me.
EDIT: I've decided I'm a bit more impressed by PatF's use of colour and the voodoo/Almost There animation than Mulan's. I like the style, but it's not very impressive.
Princess and the Frog actually has some really impressive moments to me. Fist, there's Almost There, which is a bit like a smaller-scale Sleeping Beauty, in as much as it makes it look like the flier (or whatever you would call it) is set in motion. That is very impressive. Also, there are the voodoo scenes. At the end, when the talisman is broken, there are the spirits (I guess) that come out and all the colorful stuff zooming around, and it is very different from the other style. It makes a very good contrast. However, the most impressive thing in Princess and the Frog for me is Friends on the Other Side. At the end, when Naveen is transformed, and there are all the voodoo spirits, that is very impressive, especially Facilier's face with all of the colorful things moving while his face is moving. It looks like a Dia de los Muertos mask set in motion. It's not as loudly impressive as, say, Sleeping Beauty or Beauty and the Beast, but it certainly has many smaller impressive moments.
Now it's getting hard...I'm going with this movie because the animation was great but it didn't pull me in as much.
@KataraLover- Way to make a big fool out of yourself. You're being a hypocrite, seeing that your blaming someone else for freaking out- which they are not, where YOU are the one who's 'freaking out'.
'Those of you freaking out because I call Sleeping Beauty's animation bland and plain I have two things to say. First GET OVER IT and secondly GET SOME HELP! ' -KataraLover
'Mongoose09 obviously your the one smoking something. Get over yourself you idiot!' -KataraLover
'Why do I bother commenting when I'm surrounded by a much of people the the brains of One Direction fan girls?' -youguessedit
... whereas the only slightly vicious comment was Mongoose09 asking you for what you were smoking,
seeing that you said that the animation of SEQUELS were better than art of a person (that animated the movie) who has over 5 of her own amusement parks, DEDICATED to her, by Walt Disney. Good ol' Walt has SUCH bad taste in animation, amirite KataraLover? Heck, she got her own Google Doodle.
Now, should I copy and paste the VICIOUS comments that the attackers and this 'victim' posted? 'Cause most of them proves my point.
@Jessikaroo -Oh it's not, JUST YOU.
And, btw, I'm easily the oldest here at the spot. Old enough to have seen all of those movies with the exception of Snow White on the big screen (no, not THAT old, I have watched Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty during their last rereleases). So I know exaclty how it is to watch this movies the way they are supposed to be seen.
It is no secret that I like a good natured discussion. But calling Sleeping Beauty plain - that has nothing to do with respecting each other opinions, because this isn't a matter of opinion at all, one just has to look at the animation to see if it's plain or not. You just have to take one look at the backgrounds of Sleeping Beauty to see that the animation is incredible detailed and everything but plain. I get "the colours are so dark", I get "the lack of perspective irritates me", I would even get "I don't like green" or "why are the trees not round?", but plain means for me "not many details to look at", so I don't thinkt that this is an adequate description of the animation. Calling it plain that's like saying that Cinderella looks "cramped" or that Tangled looks "one dimensional", or that Pocahontas looks "grey". It's somewhat funny when the same person praises the animation in Aladdin, considering that a lot of the animation there was inspired by the work for Sleeping Beauty, especially the design of Jafar is very much remiscient to Maleficent.
And you know what, I originally thought that you chose the word "plain" because you don't particulary like the movie and therefore made your judgement based on a faint memory, or on the darker scenes which really need a big screen or a high quality TV in order to show off all the details which went in them. But if you seriously believe that the cheaply made direct to video Disney Sequels have a better animation than any of the Disney Princess Movies, which have always shown off the best Disney has to offer animation wise, then you are not someone I want or can discuss animation with. It's like saying the Twilight is better than Shakespear.
And stop playing the victim...you were way more insulting, on a very personal level, in this discussion than any of the other participants. If you weren't a long time member, I would have thought that you are a troll who tries to stir up the community a little bit.
In Sleeping Beauty Aurora's pink-blue gown is the only good thing.
And then I'm going to dig my own grave. I wouldn't vote Sleeping Beauty yet same reason why I don't vote Snow White. To the time them were made it was amazing feat, especially Snow White. Sleeping Beauty was made to different film which have more details and animators job was really hard, they got only three pictures ready in a day which means one second takes almost weeks job. That new film make it special but it was still a flop. There reason why it's one of kind, because it wasn't so practical. I don't actually like its animation PARTLY, the second half movie looks too rushed made. It's actually is that one scene when Aurora sings which is so beautiful that it makes this movie rise in my list.
Sleeping Beauty has great animation! First I thought the movie was boring, but then I think I should be objective and not judge a movie because of its boring storyline. Just notice the details in the forest when Aurora and Phillip are dancing. Aurora herself is drawn in a very beautiful way. Even her mother isn't less pretty than herself. Also notice the stone walls of the castle. It looks very lifelike.
I think it's a complete and utter insult to the animators of Sleeping Beauty to call it "plain" and *especially* to say that "most Disney sequels" have better animation than SB when clearly so much time, detail and effort went into animating SB and 99% of Disney sequels have completely half-assed animation that you can tell lacked effort, detail and precision. Sleeping Beauty is my least favourite DP movie and I don't think I've ever defended it as much as I am here.
Once again, it's fine if the style isn't to your taste or if you just don't like the animation at all (though just because you dislike it, it doesn't automatically mean the animation is bad). I always try not to call people's opinions stupid, they are subjective, but to say it has worse animation than most DP sequels is completely foolish IMO.
Oh and I just saw the list of sequels that KataraLover made in the other poll that apparently have "better" animation than Sleeping Beauty - I cringed at most of them, but Enchanted Christmas having better animation than SB? lol, honestly, that's perhaps the most biased thing I've ever heard. I am dying from the bias here. Just because you prefer the animation (which is fine) it does NOT make it better, objectively-speaking.
~Oh and I've known KataraLover for years and he has always been a hypocrite. Nothing new or surprising there.

The woods are drawn so detailed, you can see the leaves.

link
The cottage are full of wood carvings - I don't even want to imagine how much work went into adding all those swirrels into the background.
link
They could have simply done the golden pattern and be done with it, but no, they also the light blue patterns into the mix.
link
Again, the details are stunning...compare that to any other meal served in any other Disney movie. The table is overflowing, even though most of the stuff on it is never needed in the movie.
link
You can not only see every single stone, but also the texture of them.
link
Even in the dark, they didn't get lazy. They put the same work and detail in the villains lair, despite the fact that a lot of it is nearly dark in the movie (hence my remark that you miss a lot of details if you watch the movie on an old TV screen. It just doesn't have the quality to really show of the details).
link
And a last one, just that you can see how structured the design is. No copy and paste, every location has it's own pattern of thorns (or leaves).
I think people are just choosing their least favourite as opposed to "impressive" which the question asks.
