What had originally started out as a great idea wasn't looking so good now.I had been running in the direction the Snow Wolves retreated in for the past گھنٹہ and not a single sign of anything یا anyone."Where are they?"I asked myself,I wasn't sure if Kate,Maia,Ezio,or Jorge had decided to come look for me,but I didn't even know where I was."Great.Just perfect,Connor!You screwed up again,and now I'm lost,chasing what's not there like a dog chasing cars!"I yelled out loud.I left Shearer's ماند, خلوت خانہ to pursue Arnik and his forces,but apparently I screwed up along the way."Ok,this is gonna be a problem,but like the last few I can solve it."I کہا to myself,but at the same moment I was being watched سے طرف کی something.a سیکنڈ later something burst from the bushes 20 feet from where I was standing.I had little time to react,so I sidestepped because I was being charged head-on سے طرف کی another grey figure.They were fast but not fast enough,I had to run in a direction that was further from where they had come from.Because where there are two wolves,there's a hunt group not far behind."Connor!Stand down,we are here to bring آپ back to Western Jasper.Heading off alone is suicide!"The scarred one yelled."I know!But only I can end this,even if I have to take their leader with me!"I yelled back. I had been blindsided سے طرف کی a third figure on the rocks above, and had been put onto my side. "We can't let you! We need آپ back with the pack!" A female voice cried out, her tone was very sorrowful. "And what's in it for me?" I asked sarcastically, I was lost, but these wolves weren't, it was as if I had a neon arrow pointing at me from above. "A home." A male voice کہا very straight-forward. I hesitated to say anything, I have no pack, no home, and no mate. I could go after Arnik and his Snow Wolves, and not leave a legacy behind. یا I could end this, with a pack, maybe find a mate, have a few pups afterwards. But would it be right to settle my life of adventure? To have responsibility for مزید than myself, constantly? "I'll go quietly..." I کہا automatically, and I was not going to put it that way, but it was as if I couldn't control my thoughts یا emotions on my way back to the others.
"He gave up without a fight, he's in that cave right there." I heard outside the cave I had been resting in, for once, I felt rested and relaxed. But that never lasts. "Connor, it's Maia." Maia said, as if almost whispering. "Oh, ارے Maia, I was just resting, y'know how it is with me. I disappear, but I always come back." I کہا jokingly, she chuckled a bit. "Why had آپ run off سے طرف کی yourself? Ezio and I had heard from Kate that آپ had ran off to chase down the Snow Wolves." She کہا worried. I felt guilty for not thinking about my friends, and I would always feel guilty from that. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been so stubborn, but آپ and Ezio are the pack I've never had, I wanted my دوستوں to be safe." I کہا with a hint of guilt. "We already forgive you, oh and, were glad آپ came back." Maia smiled and walked out. Things seemed to have been getting better around here, but it wouldn't last...it never does. And I hate being right, because as if on cue, the growling and commands had started up again. The Snow Wolves were on the attack, but what better for us like a good offense, but a top-of-the-class defense?
