Chapter 4
The wind howled in the mountains. Snow ruffled as Liam lead Hunter and Griffin up the mountain side. He also has something planned for one of them. Kate. The Alpha بھیڑیا of the southern pack.” Liam stated. With the mention of an Alpha female, Hunter’s eyes glimmered with a playful smile. Liam shook his head but didn’t say anything. “There is also a delta male. Seth.” Liam finished. Hunter’s smile disappeared. Great... Competition... Hunter thought. Griffin still remained silent. The moon illuminated the dew on the grass, giving it a beautiful white glow. The dew between Seth’s pads felt good. He felt happy. A friend, beautiful surroundings... Almost like paradise. Almost. Seth had reached the tracks. The train rail. Kate followed close behind. Seth looked to his right. Forest. Lots of it. The sounds of birds echoed around. He then turned to his left. Beautiful shining lake. So high, that it looked like the moon was submerged half way in it. Seth became overwhelmed with a will. Not for food, not for mating, but to howl. He began to. It sounded smooth... So loud. Kate walked by. “Seth, What are آپ doing?” “Aw... Come on... The moon, the moment? I just thought...” Kate looked away. “Aw come on Kate? Howl with me?” She just stared blankly at him. Seth sighed and turned away. He continued to howl. This time even louder. Kate watched. “AGHHPHTH” Hunter spluttered as he fell in a puddle. “Sigh...” Griffin sighed. “I hate these damn puddles!” Hunter cursed, shaking himself off. “Night time always makes it hard to see!” “Really?” Asked Griffin sarcastically. Hunter rolled his eyes. Suddenly, Griffin’s eyes narrowed. Hunter sensed Griffin’s hesitation. “What is it?” Griffin’s ears perked and twitched. Then Hunter heard it too. Howling. “What is that?” Hunter asked. “Howling... it must be the two wolves...” “What are they saying?” “Nothing really... Just... Howling... just as my self and Carey do at every moonlight howl...” Griffin stated. “Well what are we waiting for? Lets go!” Hunter ordered. “Best idea you’ve had all day...” With that, a flash of brown and مالٹا, نارنگی zoomed over the plains.

Seth looked deep into Kate’s eyes. Brown, with little flecks of gold. Kate looked back. Green with a lining of blue. Kate shook her head and then looked away quickly. Seth frowned. “Why are آپ so afraid.” Seth asked. Kate paused for a moment and then spoke. “I’m not afraid. Just following pack law. آپ know the rules. Deltas and Alphas can eat together, but not, آپ know... Howl, together...” Seth stared at Kate for several moments later and then looked away. Seth and Kate both whipped around upon hearing a loud horn blare. The train was near. “Go!” Kate yelled, quickly dismissed the last subject. Kate dashed off in the direction the train horn was coming from, her paws thudding against the ground. Seth followed. His pads scraped against rock as he tried to catch up with Kate. All the scenery whipped past Seth as he ran... Almost as if he was flying. It was all a blur. Kate slowed down and leapt over a log in her way. Seth did the same. They reached the end of the plains with only adrenaline fuelling them. The train was Kate looked down the tracks. The train was about 5 منٹ away. “Heh...” Kate smiled. “Haha...” Seth did the same. Kate suddenly heard panting and scraping coming from beside her. She jerked her head in the direction and saw two wolves running towards them. He turned to his partner beside him. She looked back sympathetically. Then she turned back to Griffin. “Why do آپ want us?” Kate asked, still not dropping from her dominant stance. Griffin flinched. “That is not important. He leapt to the train car but gasped in pain as he felt two claws dig into his heels. “Kate!” He yelped. She gaped and watched as Seth was being painfully, pulled back. Before she could react, Seth twisted his body around. He then kicked back his hind legs hitting his attacker in the face. He flew back with blood trickling from one ear. Seth leapt onto the train side. Before Hunter یا Griffin could react, the train sped away, leaving them and allowed Seth and Kate to escape.
