Is Debate Necessary

hi, okay i asked this سوال because ive read a few کتابیں and met a few people that aren't okay with debate, now i didn't purposefully go "looking" for کتابیں about debate, but little facts just get stuck in your head over time, figures :P

so, some مقبول opinions is that debates only cause the other person to hold مزید strongly to their views

debates can break people's spirit if proven wrong

debates can lead in separating of people

there is no "winner" in a debate meaning people are the type not to let out on their beliefs easy, یا meaning, even if آپ do "win" it's not really beneficial to anyone

there's only one thing that i have "for" debate which is that debates r fun ^ ^
and that's all that i have in favor of debating, sorry :\ oh wait wait, i think they're educational somewhat, so here goes

the advantage of being stubborn is آپ don't worry about being wrong. But honestly آپ will have times when آپ are wrong but its ok.

Some people like to debate because it a learning experience on how to argue a point.

Some people like to debate because they want to educate people who are not as informed as they should be on an issue یا point

Others, really just like talking about everything and everything so they use Debate as a way to let out their opinions یا review the opinion of others

Can آپ guess which on is me?

Yes. Debate shows us what's right and what's wrong. It helps us to understand a topic clearly and accurately. It helps to correct our wrong decisions and helps us to become مزید flawless while deciding our opinions. So that we can know more. It's necessary.

Debating IS fun and educational, yes!

'Debates only cause the other person to hold مزید strongly to their views.'
This is not always the case; every debate is different and every debate has a different outcome. Besides, what's wrong with holding مزید strongly to your views?

'Debates can break people's spirits, if proven wrong.'
I'm sure their spirits will heal. Mine always do. :P

'Debates can lead in separating of people.'
Actually, it's مزید likely to be arguments that do that. Arguments are like debates, but... angrier.

'There is no "winner" in a debate, meaning people are the type not to let out on their beliefs easy, یا meaning, even if آپ do "win", it's not really beneficial to anyone.'
Whether someone wins, یا not, each person will have gained مزید knowledge and مزید things to consider. So, really, it's beneficial to everyone.

Some people don't like debates because they're far too easily offended. It's not good to be far too easily offended.

*nods* true on the last one, some people do get very easily offended, it's okay to hold strongly to your veiws if they're very important to you, but being open minded and accepting other veiws is also good

however if i am talking about something that will make me upset, like...say, someone is in favor of murder and cannibalism and i am against, if in the end they have مزید points and they *win* it can be very upseting, آپ know what i mean, something that آپ believe strongly in and then someone else just hates
