Ok, now I know that there are other مضامین out there about keeping Fanpop clean in terms of language and being appropriate but it is obviously not enough seeing as people continue to ignore it.

I am not سے طرف کی any means trying to be rude یا bossy. I am not your mother. My goal in writing this is hopefully a common one among Fanpop users, to make Fanpop a joyful place for all users.

Topic 1: Language
I myself am very guilty of inappropriate language on Fanpop. I have کہا some things where if I think twice was not a good idea. I understand that some people say things out of habit and can do it without giving a سیکنڈ thought as to how appropriate it was. Again, I have done it myself. There are just some users whose language is SO bad that I want to wash their mouth out with soap...jk. But what I am trying to say is PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE try to keep it clean. This is not the first time آپ have heard it and it probably will not be the last. If your feelings are that strong, use a alternative word like "dang", یا "fudge", یا "gee wilickers!"...in short try not to say anything Flanders from The Simpsons wouldn't say.

Topic 2: Images/Picks
I am shocked سے طرف کی some of the تصاویر on Fanpop! I have seen تصاویر of nearly nude people. I have also seen تصاویر on picks with barely dressed people and things such as the no-no finger. I have also seen many inappropriate picks on topics such as sex. What is worst of all is that these things are not in say the Playboy Spot but rather spots like the Picks Spot!! Some of the تصاویر I have seen on fanpop make me double check that I'm not in some type of strip club!! Please people, lets think about what we're posting!

Topic 3: REMINDER: There Are Young Children On Fanpop!!
Ok, so imagine you're a parent of a young child. آپ see your child type "www.fanpop.com" in the browser and up comes this homepage with almost nude pictures, and سوالات about sex, and the F-word here, and H-E-double hockey sticks there. Are آپ going to be concerned about what kinds of websites your child is going on!?!? OF COURSE!!!! I myself did not learn the S-H word until I was 9. دیا I was a sheltered child but that's not the point. What I'm trying to say is we do not want Fanpop teaching kids what certain things are یا words mean! We don't want Fanpop teaching kids that it's ok to be a potty-mouth!

Again, I don't like to nag but please, lets try to keep Fanpop an enjoyable place for everyone. Respect others, respect their beliefs and their rights. Everyone deserves to have the joyful experience of Fanpop so don't ruin it for others.

Bikini's to me isn't nearly naked but to some i'm unsure if it is. Near naked i'd think is like boobies showing.

DrDevience PG 13 means some language and some sexuality... I'm sorry, but this site, to my knowledge, was not made just for children. If parents get all hystrionic over the word crap or bitch, then they need to supervise where their kids are going... but I guarandamntee you that these kids everyone are so worried about could cuss rings around any of us adults. If you want a website that is rated totally 'G', well, you will be hard pressed to find it. Even most Disney movies have PG elements. And PG stands for what, class? Parental Guidance....

marissa im gunna have to agree with was Aussie_Koala on this one. even if there weren't any kids on fanpop (which we have to acknowledge there are and respect that), i still dont like everyone swearing. i mean, it seems kind of unecessary to me. why cant we all talk without swearing? i dont want to see people cursing, or people naked or anything like that, and im allowed in pg13 movies! :P anyways, thats just my two cents.

DrDevience Angelique... and others: I would like to point out that it is primarily in the US that people get wacked out over silly stuff like this... and the US is primarily where the kids grow up to shoot up the high schools. There is no bleeping or other censorship in places like Sweden, and the human body is considered natural. I wonder why there is less crime and less kids on medication here? The thing of it is, letter groupings and bare asses do not harm a child in any way. How the parents and those people around them react is what harms them.

Snerkie DrDevience is right, it's what they have around them. The people around them is what influences them and the teaching they have as to use a condom at all times or a baby will appear. Internets does no harm, may disturb you mentally a bit if you see something so messed up otherwise a "naughty word" isn't going to make you turn into a bad person or seeing a butt (no one has actually told me what they classify as inappropriate photos) will not make you run off and make babies, lol.

rozier23 I agree with DrDeveince. In Belgium we haven't got any bleeps and censorship is very limited. I don't understand why all movies for teenagers are filled with violence and murder, but if you show a bit of nudity, you get an R-rating. So in the USA you can end lives, but not make new ones? Strange.

So you are saying that using a larger vocabulary makes one appear dumber.... The thing of it is, these so-called 'cuss words' that English speakers are always going on about are just words. Letter groupings. They are qualifiers. If I say 'Wow that is fucking cool' it has nothing to do with fornication, now does it? It merely means the item is a lot more cool than 'very cool.' To me, cringing at that sentence is what's silly. It is the equivalent of cringing at 'Super cool.'

geordie_girl First off im kinda torn on this issue too. i dont think there is really a need to bring sexual behaviour and nudity to fanpop but mild swearing is in most tv shows anyway and if its not used exesivly i dont really have an issue with it. As for caintil31 to be on the fanpop your are agreeing that you are 13 or over when you sign up, so your sister shouldnt be on this site in the first place and clearly if sites are so easily poluted parents should be monitoring what their children are surfing more closely. Also at 13 there are few kids who dont use mild curse words themselves when they arent around adults do you not remember being 13?? I'm not sure how rules work on tv in other countries but here in England we have a watershed of 9pm where basically before this time a show cant use swear (cuss) words or show sceanes of a sexual or violent nature and movies are normally only PG or 12 rated before 9pm. Yet many of the programs that are on fanpop all fall in to this after 9pm category. Doesnt that mean to irradicate sex, nudity an swearing from the site many of the links and videos that are posted would have to also be removed as their is nothing stoping the children watchin these videos and learning all about sex, nudity and how to swear on them.

edennirvana I strongly believe that everybody is entitled to their opinion...and parting from that premise I say this: As valid as Aussie_Koala's point is (after all she's entitled to have an opinion) I disagree...Fanpop is not "The Hellhole" from where all evil is spawned to the world and to the the eyes, ears and minds of kids, nor we fanpop users are the devil... The things that 'rot' the mind, 'bad words' etc are everywhere from music, tv, the streets, school, even in their own houses...a word like bitch is said everywhere, from tv to any schoolyard girl fight, so it shouldn't be cause for an uproar...if anybody has a problem with all this maybe they should just dig a hole and move underground, because that's the way society is...most of us probably grew up sheltered by our parents so all this things wouldn't 'affect us' and still we 'learned' them and haven't died, the kids of today are probably growing up the same way (I have a preeety large vocabulary myself, and that doesn't mean I evil or that my mother did a poor job, its everywhere) Kids are like sponges, they absorb everything, whether its here or anywhere else.

First of all I'd like to say that I did it too. Yes, I took شبیہیں that were گیا کیا پوسٹ on livejournal and گیا کیا پوسٹ them here with credit.
Now آپ might say: Okay, but if people credit them, why is there a problem? It's not as if the lj people own the original pictures they icon.

Pros and Cons (and Questions) About the New Rating System

Earlier tonight, the ratings system of Fanpop experienced a massive overhaul. No longer can آپ rate content on a scale of one to five (ala YouTube), but if آپ like content, آپ can "like" it (ala Facebook), یا "be a fan" of it.

Dave gave a very good, logical explanation for the change to help assuage some fears and answer some questions:

Re-reading the various مضامین about promoting کلب on Fanpop, it occurred to me that some fairly basic ideas were missing for promoting the کلب آپ like (not just the ones آپ create, but any کلب آپ enjoy).

Many of the گزشتہ etiquette مضامین and فورم threads have described things to avoid in promoting a club, as well as suggestions for things to do. For once, I'm not going to rant about undesirable behavior (that's the plan, anyway), but just keep the focus on other things شائقین can try to promote their پسندیدہ clubs. I just logged onto Fanpop about a half گھنٹہ پہلے and discovered something extremely profane and inappropriate on the YouTube spot. Due to it's heavily pornographic material, the video was deleted shortly thanks to several reports from some handy fellow Fanpoppers.

It was کیا پیش سے طرف کی a user of the name bon8699. I reported this user 3 times and I expect him to be banned for a long, long time.

The reason I am so annoyed that this was کیا پیش is that this is not some pornography site. And this is most certaintly not NewGrounds, where آپ can کرائیں جمع تصاویر like this as much as آپ please without...

I swear to whatever higher power آپ believe in that I am going to injure someone with all the shoddy spelling going around. Yes abbreviations are easier (in a sense) but it looks like a 5 سال old wrote it and a lot of people don't understand it. So lets first go over some abbreviations that we should cut out of our vocabulary here at Fanpop when آپ post content...

u = you
r = are
srs = serious
2 = to یا too (using it as "two" is fine)
plz = please

If آپ actually take that .5 of a سیکنڈ to type the whole word people will look at your content, تبصرہ and such a lot مزید and with nicer comments...

I am way past the lecturing and into downright grrrrrr-ville.

آپ already know full well that taking something آپ did not create and not giving full credit to the owner is theft. Your excuses mostly boil down to laziness at this point.

So.

This is my public notice that any and all تصاویر with no credit to the original owner of the image will be rated harshly no matter how great the picture is... یا how much I normally like you.

Additionally, if there is a blatant Copyright notice right there on the damn picture and آپ still failed to credit the owner, I'm reporting it to Fanpop -and- notifying the owner of the image that آپ چرا لیا, چوری کی it.

Enough is enough.

Yes, I am fired up again over another issue of cruelty here on Fanpop... specifically the practice of passing judgment on other users.
Let's face it, we do not know each other personally, and for the most part none of us have ever met in real life. I think it is cruel and sad that people find it necessary to try to judge the intentions یا actions of others. How could anyone possibly judge another person یا their actions without knowing them personally یا knowing the things they are going through. آپ could not possibly say what آپ would do in their situation without...

Okay, I don't know if it's just coincidence but I noticed this week that some picks just are, I don't quite know how to describe it, bad.

It just seems that a lot of picks are asked so that they are asked, a lot of them don't have pictures. (that's not very important but I can't help noticing)
But the worst thing is that there are so many typos in the questions. Look, my English is not very good, I make a lot of mistakes but al least I try to make as less as possible. I mean, a lot of سوالات are just so wrong, the 'preview' thing that آپ get when you've finished making your pick is there...

A few منٹ پہلے I thought of a partial answer to the حالیہ outbreak of internet trolls we've had over the last few moths.

Ladies and Gentlepoppers, I introduce to you:

The ATSOF (The Anti Troll Squad Of Fanpop)
This will be a society of fanpoppers who work together to justly rate any content which has (without reason) been rated low.

My plan is to make an ATSOF Spot; if a spot یا particular piece of content has been rated low آپ can alert the ATSOF spot about this and some of the "fans" of the spot will head over to the content and rate the content fairly, therefore boosting the rating.

Please tell me what آپ think; I don't want to create a Ghost-Spot-to-be

If we make a new spot we want to make it popular. Recently I made a new spot so when I wanted to send a message to all my دوستوں about it I got tired of typing individual messages so I quit. So we should be able to send one message to all our دوستوں at the same time if necessary. Also there should be an area that says "new spots" on the ہوم page so that people can see what has been recently created and if they want to شامل میں the particular spot. It would really make the people who created the spots happy because they could get some good publicity.

سے طرف کی the way I made a new spot about Kal Penn, the indian guy from the وین wilder movies, Harold and Kumar go to white castle, and Epic Movie.

Terrorist Attack in Paris

Hello to everyone,
my name is Inès, and I'm French.

As a lot of آپ know, Paris has been attacked yesterday سے طرف کی terrorists. The کنسرٹ hall "Le Bataclan" has been attacked during a concert.

128 dead and مزید than 200 wounded are for now counted. This is a tragedy.

I was born and I've lived in Paris, and I often go there and to the Bataclan to attend concerts, and seeing this, is just awful. The whole country is shocked and desperate.

3 national days of mourning have been declared.

Our troops have been bravely fighting for far too long.

Well, we've been in Iraq for five years as of Wednesday. And now we might be getting into the same thing in Iran.
