I don't feel strongly about her either which way.

To me she's a human and humans make mistakes.As long as they learn from it they are fine.Though most people hate her for choosing James and not Servus.

I like her character. Some people complain that she's portrayed as to perfect though. And as Annapeace says, others dislike her for not choosing Snape.

I LOVE Lily Evans!!! I'm curious annapeace, why did you write this question? It's not bad or anything like that, I just didn't know anyone could hate Lily. She's awesome, smart, brave, and always speaks her mind. Do that many people hate her for choosing Severus? I mean, I <3 Snape (ALWAYS) and think it's super sad that his love for her was never recognized until after her death except for by Dumbledore, but if she had chosen Snape, there may well have been no Harry Potter... Snape, whatever, series.

A lot of people bash Lily in fanfics and they generally hate Lily as in their opinion let down Snape and broke his heart in a cruel way.For example link is written by a user to show why they hate Lily,though I really couldn't find anything to hate her from as I said,I think she's a human.And humans aren't perfect.

I will never approve of her refusal to forgive Snape, but I don't hate her because of it. If I did, I'd be refusing to forgive, just the same as she did.

I know some people hate on her for you know the Snape thing but isn't he the one who ruined his friendship with her, in fact she made excuses for him when he was getting involved in dark arts and getting involved with Death eaters until he calls her a mudblood that is when she finally cuts ties with him. Is it her fault that she fell in love with James no. In the end she was a fantastic mother who gave her life so her son could live.

Calling her a Mudblood is a metaphor for calling someone the N word. I wouldn't say that a person should automatically forgive that.
