Throughout the Harry Potter books, there are some variations between the Bloomsbury (British) and Scholastic (American) editions. Below the first section on "Philosopher's vs. Sorcerer's" is a section on other different terminologies used.

Philosopher's vs. Sorcerer's

When Scholastic was publishing Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in America, they decided to rename the book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. They claimed that the American and British uses of the word philosopher were a bit different, so therefore sorcerer was a مزید appropriate word. Any true Harry Potter fan, American...

I decided to write this مضمون because I have seen many تبصرے lately that kind of bother me.

There are several picks in which this has come up, but the last one I have seen, and the reason why I am writing this is the question: ¿Have آپ completely changed your attitude towards a character after reading/watching their past stories? (or something along those lines)

link

It is a really interesting question, and what really caught my attention were the answers, the comments, especially since it wasn't the first time that I am reading تبصرے like those.

The thing is that in that pick, James...

Harry Potter married Ginny Weasley. They had three children, James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lily Luna. He became head of the Auror's Department under Kingsley Shacklebolt.

Ginny Weasley played quidditch for the Holyhead Harpies. After deciding to raise a family, she retired and became Senior Quidditch correspondent at the Daily Prophet.

Hermione Granger married to Ron Weasely and had two children, Rose and Hugo. Hermione went back to Hogwarts and sat her NEWTS before working for Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures and helping house elves. She then moved to the Department...

Dolores Umbridge: the horrible woman who is the most cruel and hated character in the Harry Potter series. Here are 100 reasons as to why I hate Dolores Umbridge.

1) She believes in extremely harsh, severe, and cruel punishments.

2)Too much pink.

3) She's just doesn't make sense. Like, how she tells everyone to raise their hands if they want to speak, but then she ignores them.

4) She's racist. Well, she's technically "half-breed-ist", because she thinks wizards and witches are better than centaurs, werewolves, goblins, elves, etc. I hate that, because without the help of a lot of half breeds,...

Compared to some of the other dynamics in the Harry Potter, Sirius and Bellatrix's was rarely in direct spotlight, whether in the کتابیں یا the movies. They have, however, one of the most interesting and intriguingly unappreciated relationships in the series.

First of all, their parallels -- they were both prisoners of Azkaban for over ten years, making them both sullen, depressed, haunted individuals who are overly familiar with battling for sanity and hope against the dementor's oppression. The difference? Sirius pulled through, Bella gave in. Still, even if Sirius was strong enough to avoid...

Accio (Summoning Charm) - Latin for "I summon."

Alohomora (Spell that opens locks) - Derived from the Hawaiian "Aloha" meaning "goodbye," and the Latin word "mora," meaning "obstacle."

Amortentia - "Amor" is the Latin word for "love," and "tentia" is derived from "tentare," which means "the handling of," "the making of an attempt," یا "the attack on." Hence, "the handling of love," "making an attempt to love," یا "the attack on love."

آپ mutter nonsense Latin words under your breath.

You call your least پسندیدہ teacher Snape.

Your computer says "You've Got Mail" and آپ run outside looking for an owl.

You actually ask for a جھاڑو for Christmas.

You mutter "lumos" under your breath every time آپ turn on a flashlight.

You sort everyone آپ meet into the four Hogwarts houses (Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin).

You were burned when آپ couldn't get through the flames of your fireplace.

You had to go to the hospital after آپ broke your nose running headfirst into the دیوار between platforms nine and ten.

Headmaster Albus Dumbledore: His first name is from the Latin word alba, "white." His last name, according to Rowling interviews, is Old English for "bumblebee." In colour symbolism, white often stands for purity, so the headmaster's name suggests honour and a hard-working nature ("busy as a bee").
Professor Binns: A bin is a large storage container. A dustbin is British English for a garbage can. This boring professor could be described as a ghostly storage for information that many Hogwarts students view as rubbish.
Headmaster Armando Dippet: Armando is from the name Armand,...

To start I would like to say that I am not posting this to be mean یا start any fights. I'm posting this because a lot of people ask me why I don't like her یا simply assume it's only because I like Bellatrix, and I want to clear this up. Plus I'd rather just post a link to this مضمون rather than explain it every time someone asks.

Anyways, the first and biggest problem I have with Molly is (yes the obvious one lol, I'll get it out of the way first) that she killed Bellatrix. I do respect her motives, her kid's life was on the line. But I still don't like it. I also don't like how she called...

I love Draco Malfoy so much! And we all know that he has a knack for good comebacks. So, these are some things آپ can say یا do when he insults you. Let's get this فہرست started!

1.If he calls آپ a Mudblood, say "At least I'm no bleached blonde."
2. If he makes fun of آپ for being bad at Quidditch, get the Snitch from right under his nose and don't let him forget it.
3. Slap him across the face.
4. Do a Moody and turn him into a ferret.
5. Turn his hair pink.
6. Call him a Daddy's boy.
7. Bewitch snowballs to constantly hit him on the back of his head.
8. Sneak a Puking Pastille into his dinner--...

There are many, many reasons to love Hermione Granger. She is a wonderfully written character and a great role model. However, lately I've been seeing a lot of people say things to the extent of "i love hermione because she's sooooo pretty!!!!! she's the most beautiful girl in hogwarts and i love her!!!!!" It seems harmless, and it probably is. But I have a problem with it.

People tend to obsess over her appearances, when Hermione herself would probably scoff at such things. Hermione was never one to care all that much about physical appearances; she was far مزید concerned over مزید important...

How often does it happen that we decide to watch a film in the theatre, then تلاش it online, and then leave it to finish downloading first so that we could watch it some other time, and then end up, ultimately, forgetting about it altogether? Quite often, I’d say!
There’s nothing wrong in choosing to download the film آپ are here for, but when آپ can link, why not simply sit down and enjoy it first, and then worry about whether آپ want to keep this film with your forever! It’s not only acceptable in the film-fan world, but it’s also the idea in vogue. Furthermore, outing to cinema...

1. Become an extremely powerful witch یا wizard. This will take years of study and sacrifice which lie beyond the scope of a WikiHow article. As a general guide آپ should not attempt to create a horcrux until آپ can cast non-verbal killing curses.

2. Locate an object of extreme significance to you. An emotional attachment to the object will aid the process and make it easier on your body and soul.

What was Ron thinking when he received his prefect badge? What if Molly never showed up when Hermione was 'trying' to congratulate him?

It is from Ron's POV. Set is before 5th سال when he received his prefect badge. Some actions will be similar to what JKR wrote but some will be different. What would've been Ron's reaction if Molly never showed up? End will be different from what JKR wrote.

So I've been thinking about this a lot lately...I discussed this with a friend a few months ago. We were talking about how many Christian groups (as آپ well know) have condemned HP as anti-Christian. In fact, I believe that the Harry Potter story is actually a symbolization of the Christian religion.
Note: This is entirely my opinion and is not meant as "Christian propaganda" یا to offend anyone in the slightest. It is merely my opinion! :)

Harry Potter is Jesus. Whaaaaat?!
1) Both HP and Jesus were born into humble beginnings.
Jesus was born in Bethlehem, a tiny town literally in the middle...

Hi everyone,
I'm not really a Harry Potter fan, but آپ see, a couple months پہلے I came across a website called "Always Astrology". It provides a تفصیل of the twelve zodiac signs (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces), Moon signs, and the planetary placements (I mean like Mercury signs, Venus signs). It also provided a free birth chart calculator. So after doing mine, I've pretty much been obsessed and had done charts for everyone I know, and every character that had a traceable birthday. And I had just done Harry's.

So in case...

Hermione Granger and Ginny Weasley
I just want to state right away that J. K. Rowling is in no way sexist. This is about the شائقین and again, not all of them.

Ginerva Molly Weasley. The love of Harry Potter's life, the mother of his children. Headstrong, smart, cunning, quick-thinking, and fierce. The hero to many girls, young and old, and the object of affection to many boys out there as well.

Hermione Jane Granger. The love of Ron Weasley's life, the mother of his children. Also headstrong, smart, cunning, quick-thinking, and just as fierce, if only in a slightly different way. Hermione is possibly the most well-known of the...

For Jessica, who loves stories, for Anne, who loved them too, and for Di, who heard this one first.

Here's a comparison and contrast essay I wrote for school - keep in mind my English teacher has never read Harry Potter, so I had to explain stuff.

When comparing a book and a film, یا something similar, the first thing one thinks about is obviously the plot. And in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, at first glance, you'll find it's rather similar in both the book and the film. Harry, Ron and Hermione, the main trio, go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for their sixth year. They're shocked when they find out that ex-Potions Master Severus Snape has been named Defence Against...
