Throughout the Harry Potter books, there are some variations between the Bloomsbury (British) and Scholastic (American) editions. Below the first section on "Philosopher's vs. Sorcerer's" is a section on other different terminologies used.

Philosopher's vs. Sorcerer's

When Scholastic was publishing Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in America, they decided to rename the book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. They claimed that the American and British uses of the word philosopher were a bit different, so therefore sorcerer was a مزید appropriate word. Any true Harry Potter fan, American...

My opinion of the سب, سب سے اوپر inspirational quotes for the Harry Potter Series. تبصرہ on anything I missed!

-It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live

-There are all kinds of courage. It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to our enemies, but a great deal مزید to stand up to our friends

-Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all, those who live without love.

-If آپ want to know what a man's like take a look at how he treats his inferiors not his equals

-It is out choices that دکھائیں who we truly are, far مزید than our abilities.

-Happiness can be found even in the darkest...

I decided to write this مضمون because I have seen many تبصرے lately that kind of bother me.

There are several picks in which this has come up, but the last one I have seen, and the reason why I am writing this is the question: ¿Have آپ completely changed your attitude towards a character after reading/watching their past stories? (or something along those lines)

link

It is a really interesting question, and what really caught my attention were the answers, the comments, especially since it wasn't the first time that I am reading تبصرے like those.

The thing is that in that pick, James...

Dolores Umbridge: the horrible woman who is the most cruel and hated character in the Harry Potter series. Here are 100 reasons as to why I hate Dolores Umbridge.

1) She believes in extremely harsh, severe, and cruel punishments.

2)Too much pink.

3) She's just doesn't make sense. Like, how she tells everyone to raise their hands if they want to speak, but then she ignores them.

4) She's racist. Well, she's technically "half-breed-ist", because she thinks wizards and witches are better than centaurs, werewolves, goblins, elves, etc. I hate that, because without the help of a lot of half breeds,...

A rare and natural beauty
5. Ginny-For starters, I love her beautiful red hair. It's so gorgeous. I love it when she has that white پھول in her hair, it's pretty. I also love her eyes. She's just stunning. She has an amazing smile. She is such a natural beauty.

4. McGonagall-Now, before آپ start calling me weird, let me explain. Have آپ seen her as a young woman? She's gorgeous! I love her big eyes, they're so amazing. She has gorgeous hair.

3. Luna-I love Luna's looks! She's stunning! I love her long, blonde hair. I also adore her eyes, not to big and not too small. I love her مولی, لال مولی earrings, they compliment her...

Chapter 1
The Wand

“No, Dad, please!” I screamed into my hands, my eyes full of tears. Hogwarts wasn’t a normal school, not that my family was normal, but I didn’t want to have any part in it. First we had to اقدام all the way from New York to England, then a letter came telling me I’d been accepted at a school “for witchcraft and wizardry,” a boarding school, none the less.
My dad held me on his lap. Being eleven, I was a bit old for that, but he’d let me anyway, “just this once,” he’d said.
    “I know...

So I've been thinking about this a lot lately...I discussed this with a friend a few months ago. We were talking about how many Christian groups (as آپ well know) have condemned HP as anti-Christian. In fact, I believe that the Harry Potter story is actually a symbolization of the Christian religion.
Note: This is entirely my opinion and is not meant as "Christian propaganda" یا to offend anyone in the slightest. It is merely my opinion! :)

Harry Potter is Jesus. Whaaaaat?!
1) Both HP and Jesus were born into humble beginnings.
Jesus was born in Bethlehem, a tiny town literally in the middle...

 Bellatrix Lestrange
Bellatrix Lestrange
I have been on the Harry Potter spot for a while now and I constantly find myself getting asked "why do آپ like Bellatrix?" So I decided to type up this article. Thank آپ lifeisgoodx3 for inspiring me to do so.

So why would some one like a person who killed Sirius, Dobby, Tonks, and tortured Hermione and the Longbottms? Well I actually have multiple reasons as to why I like her; Bellatrix stands for what she believes in, she's crazy and funny, pretty, unique, strong and confident, she has an interesting story behind her, I can relate to her, she has potential to be a good guy, and I have a...

"Harry Potter married Ginny Weasley. They had three children, James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lily Luna. He became head of the Auror’s Department under Kingsley Shacklebolt.

Ginny Weasley played quidditch for the Holyhead Harpies. After deciding to raise a family, she retired and became Senior Quidditch correspondent at the Daily Prophet.

Hermione Granger married Ron Weasely and had two children, Rose and Hugo. Hermione went back to Hogwarts and sat her...

Here's a comparison and contrast essay I wrote for school - keep in mind my English teacher has never read Harry Potter, so I had to explain stuff.

When comparing a book and a film, یا something similar, the first thing one thinks about is obviously the plot. And in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, at first glance, you'll find it's rather similar in both the book and the film. Harry, Ron and Hermione, the main trio, go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for their sixth year. They're shocked when they find out that ex-Potions Master Severus Snape has been named Defence Against...

Okay, I seriously wasn't going to go here but I feel the need to express my opinion a little further. So I have heard some of آپ say " The Harry Potter series will be re-made to keep up with time, یا keep the legend alive". That is fine that آپ have that opinion, but I only have one یا two questions. آپ don't think the movie series will live on as a classic. Its the سب, سب سے اوپر earning movie series in the world, not counting inflation. It has the best British cast in the world. Besides I think Hollywood avoids remakes if they can unless they are trying to make quick money. And if they do remake...

Recently I گیا کیا پوسٹ a few pick سوالات regarding crucial scenes being cut out of the movie(Half-Blood Prince) this is my first time writing an مضمون on fanpop so i have chosen to use it to address the diffrences between the film and the book.
As reported on wikipedia, there are a number of difference between the film and the book. The first difference is that Luna Lovegood discovers Harry in the compartment of the Hogwarts Express and not Tonks, she(Luna) finds Harry wearing Spectrespecs to find him. This would explain the pictures we have seen of Evanna Lynch wearing glasses in trialers for...

--Chapter One: Malfoy Manor--

Alexandra Riddle walked along the dark streets of London to find a decent place to Apparate. The muggles were giving odd her looks when she passed, and she was resisting the urge to curse them. But the muggles had a reason to stare at Alexandra.
She has long, messy black curls with a side-swept fringe, pale skin, and crimson red eyes that she got...

سے طرف کی now I feel like most people know about and have formed opinions on Delphi and the details surrounding her birth. I know I definitely have and I thought I'd share them.

I'll just put it right out there; hell yeah I'm glad it happened! I know that there are a lot of people who hated the fact that Bellatrix had a kid--and believe me I do understand why, I'll get to that in a bit. But I personally was really excited. I saw the leaked script back in June (or so) and I hoped quite feverishly that it wasn't a hoax. Because the Lord knows that I'm happy that Bellatrix's legacy will live on through...

So Rowling never really discussed why Bellatrix is so obsessed with Voldemort. And I constantly ponder upon how anyone could find that no-nosed snake-man-boy attractive in any way. With that کہا I wanted to post a few of my theories as well as some of the interesting ones I've seen across the net. Once again, as stated, these are just theories and speculations. No more, no less.

First and foremost I think it's a pretty محفوظ bet to say that she loves him یا at least started to love him based on the fact that they share similar ideologies. Both loved the idea of pure-blood supremacy. A lot of...

She scribbles something on the grocery فہرست tacked to the inside of the silverware cupboard door.

"Run out and get the mail?" She asks.

I run my thumb up the stack of napkins that sits on the table. "Do I have to?"

I found an interesting short essay from HP Lexicon and it made me think about it even deeper than it goes.

First off; please don't get me wrong.
I love Dumbledore's character, I love Lockhart's character, I love Hogwarts, and I love, love, love the کتابیں and the HP universe. I'm just wondering and interested in what, if anything, is behind all this I'm about to discuss.
That if Rowling possibly actually planned this somehow and for some reason many parents in that universe are willing to over-look huge problems and risk their children's lives because of someone's status and گزشتہ reputation...OR...
