I like Dobby, but I don't really care that he wasn't in it because they already had to leave out a lot more important stuff than Dobby. It's unrealistic to expect everything in the book to be in the movie. He should definitely be in Deathly Hallows though.

seeing as he has an important bit in the last book you'd think they might at least mention him, now he'll just popo up randomly in the next film with no back story other than harry freed him in the chamber of secrets
