best Lockhart could do would be to erase her memory during the fight so she forgets she's fighting.

The only thing Lockhart can do is memory charms and I don't really think those would be useful in a fight and he's also pretty unintelligent. Olympe Maxine on the other hand is the headmaster of a school and probably loads more intelligent than Lockhart. Plus i'm pretty sure anyone could beat Lockhart just by asking for an autograph then knocking him out when he lowers his wand to go sign it.
