Alright this might be a while to getting to the point but bear with me. Now I have always been very confused on this particularily aspect of the show. I know a lot has not been revealed but it still confuses me and I would greatful if someone could answer my question.

When House got the infarction everyone saw that Cuddy was his doctor at the end. Was she at this point in time the dean of medicine, if she was had she already hired him or not. If this is unanswerable for now tell me.

I honestly think this is the truth, House was a fantastic doctor, Cuddy wasn't an idiot and got him 'cheap' to put it in her words. The one night stand may have helped thinks along though.

good question, I think I don't honestly know but would like to find out...lol

NO. She was NOT Dean of Medicine at the time. I know this because of the unaired version of "Honeymoon" from season 1. There was a script of the unaired version of it. In there, Stacy and Cuddy were talking, and Stacy said something like:

"So Dean of Medicine now, huh? Great office." (Well, something along those lines, I can't remember. But that definitely implies she wasn't Dean of Medicine when they'd seen each other before.)

I have always been a little confused by the timeline of the show. In one episode (the one when Volger first arrives, can't for the life of me remember the title of the episode!), House says he has been through 3 regime changes at Princeton-Plainsboro. So, that would suggest that he has worked there for a while, which would mean, if Cuddy had hired him, she would have been in charge for a while too... So, oldmovie, we can be confused about it together!

Anyway, that isn't the point of this pick.

I definately think she hired House because he is a great doctor and she got him cheap. I think the fact that they have a "history" is probably something that Cuddy DIDN'T want to hire him for, because she knew he would harrass her!

I honestly do think there's another reason. Cuddy was so secretive about it when Cameron asked her in "Humpty Dumpty".

Let's face it, he really is a good doctor.

There is something I don't understand - Have they ever had a one night stand or is it just something they joke about?

It was implied that they did have a one-night stand in the episode Top Secret.

Come on, she's a good boss. Wouldn't hire him to get into his panties. She was serious when she said it.
I think she was his doctor when he was with Stacy, and some time after she hired him, when she became Dean herself. I say, 2/3 years before show starts.
