"Gothic" isn't my cup of tea, but symphonic metal is one of my favorite types of music. ^-^

I personally love them both, but Symphonic metal is the best!

I actually don't like that many Gothic Metal bands. I do like Forever Slave and Mortal Love, and I like a few songs by Theatre of Tragedy and Tristania, but other than that the genre is too... "slow" for me. The reason why I like the few Gothic Metal bands I do is because they focus more on a minor-key aspect with their music , and Symphonic Metal can do minor key whenever they want. In fact, Symphonic Metal can basically do whatever they want whenever they want as long they have orchestras and guitars in many of their songs, which is why Symphonic Metal is my favorite music genre. :D

Mortal Love, Tristania, and Theatre of Tragedy are a few of my favorites.
