Even The Hunger Games (which could never happen) is more likely to happen than something as unrealistic as The Purge. By far.

Neither but with The Hunger Games, it would make more sense. It was to keep peace between the districts, it's a stupid way that involves having children fight to the death instead of adults, but it makes more sense. Not that The Hunger Games is a bad book or movie series, not at all. The Purge is just STUPID! If someone is actually stupid enough to make crime legal for a day than humanity is just a hopeless race and is going so downhill that worms will be more evolved than us.
