I don't judge them harshly or anything, but at first glance, anyone with eyes and a brain makes an immediate minor judgement on whatever they see whether they're conscious of it or not.

I'd never form a full judgement based only on appearance. But appearance still makes an impact.

If there is a good looking character that has a rotten personality, I dislike them.

If there is a rotten looking character that has a good personality, I like them.

It depends more so on how you view said question I guess. I somewhat do it but I don't judge for stupid reasons. it's more so in my opinion making an analysis of the situation but nonetheless judging is still judging for whatever reason it could be used for it.

I guess if it was for a beauty list or in some cases when the appearance is a important factor to the character.

If I haven't watched the show yet, yes. If I have, no.

A lot of times- particularly in anime like the pictures used in this poll- appearances are used as sort of a trope. They're meant to reflect the character. You're not going to have a sexy, promiscuous character in modest clothing or with a crooked face.

In literature, it's sometimes the same. Promiscuous characters in revealing clothes, shy characters in modest clothes, etc. It can also be used symbolically in literature.

It's part of human nature to make judgements/generalizations to a degree, anyway.

In anime, of course I do. But in books, I can't really SEE them, now can I? Lol. However, I do imagine them being good-looking unless stated they aren't (which rarely happens)
