since John died, Dean was told he would have to save him or kill Sammy, always worrying about what was going on in his head and then his own deal and so on...it's natural that he feels liberated not having Sam around but he'll eventually learn to separate Sam from the situation..right now alone time is what they need..Sam will learn to tame what's inside and to keep telling Lu no and Dean will learn to find his love of life again, that he's not responsible for Sam's well-being all the time...the positive upside of all of this is that they are both learning to live without each other and that's much healthier than what they had before..

I hope you're right Luce but I don't want this alone time to alienate the bros!Winchesters aren't that strong when they are apart.I'm afraid that if they spend a lot of time away from each other they'll become more distant and Lu will be able to approach Sammy easily and get his consent.

i think it was needed.....don't get me wrong i wish it wasn't needed but it is....sam needs 2 find himself again, and find a way 2 live with the things he has done. He's not the sammy he use 2 know.

dean can finally get the chance 2 be dean winchester...not protector of his brother sam, not john winchester's son, but dean winchester. he doesn't have 2 be strong for anyone else but himself, and like lucy said he can find his love of life again.

They needed time alone to figure out that they might be each other's weakness but they need each other for strength. And Sammy needs to get himself together to hunt again. Dean needs to hunt without Sam on his back.

Dean has spent soooo much time looking out for Sam and sometimes it's not appreciated. I think it's good for them to be apart. I mean, they're always going to have arugments, they're brothers, but spending that much time together for a long period is going to get tiring and I think it's great that they're apart for a while.
