His brother was in her bed. His brother had shown up on her balcony, soaked in rain water and blood, and she had helped him. His brother had instructed her as she used tweezers to pull a bullet from his shoulder. She sat back on her ankles and watched him regain his breath, his good arm propping him up, and the other laid against his bandaged torso.
“What was that for?” he wondered.
“You’re taking up half my bed,” she answered, as if that were really the reason.
“I’m sorry, I-,” he started to اقدام to get out of the bed, but Dane set a hand on his shoulder, surprising the both of them.
